I’m sure many of us have considered it, but I was trying to express that it hadn’t been discussed in this forum.

Juan Pablo Montoya: "At some point, Lewis is going to have to get angry and suddenly ask for a change of engineers or something."

"Because if he makes a change of engineers, it would be good for the people around him to say: ‘Do I work with Lewis or will he take me out?’ And that’s what Lewis needs at this point, because the engineer, the attitude of not answering the radio, you have to be more professional than that and a person like that isn’t healthy for him, [the] team, it’s not healthy for anyone personally."

"If I were with Ferrari, I would have pulled his ears [Adami’s], and said: ‘You do that again, and you’ll be working at a desk in the office because we’re still not interested, do you understand?'..."

"If Ferrari really wants to succeed, they really need to listen to what Lewis needs and build a car around him that Lewis wants."

"I think we’ll see the Lewis of old. He’s going to be out with a revenge to prove everybody wrong and show everybody they were wrong about him. I think if everything lines up, I think Lewis can be a huge threat for a championship."

Well if “everything lines up” means Ferrari somehow builds a car that’s 2 sec quicker than all the others, then I suppose Lewis would be one of the top two contenders for WDC.

Lewis is yesterday's news, to dump Sainz for this guy was a mistake. Ferrari F1 has a tendency to shoot themselves in the foot a lot!

I think he now has asked for a change of engineers. Maybe Ferrari can work out a deal with Mercedes to trade Lewis' current engineer for Bono! And Antonelli will wind up with an engineer he can converse with in Italian!

As far as I know, and I've had an ex-Mclaren F1 engineer from his era, the problem with Hamilton is that he is an instinctive driver. That sounds great, but it means he has no clue at what he does, he just drives out of instinct and if the car suits his style and is competent as well, he shines, but he is absolutely clueless and is unable to communicate with his engineer so as to work on the car's settings and setup. His communication is none, his understanding of the car is non existent, he just drives it and if the stars get aligned, he shines, if they don't he's inside the car what he's outside of it: a not very smart middle-aged bro with two faces; the Messiah Superstar and the narcissistic Victim of all conspiracies..

So he relies on the engineers being able to guess things up for him, if they don't, he's lost.

It may be that the stars get aligned for him again, but so far he's lost and has been for years.

For now he's simply lost, and one very expensive lost at it.

Beautiful, really shows the natural talent that he has. To produce such a career with cars not set up for him.

I have seen this movie, it's called "Days of Thunder.":D.......so like Cole Trickle then who knows nothing about the car and doesn't know how to tell his engineer what to do. (Bar scene)

If he gets a new engineer who is he going to blame his poor performance on? ;)

Well so far the excuses I’ve seen have been the car, his engineer, strategy, and needing time to acclimate. :D

The scene from the Movie Hunt vs Lauda comes to mind where Niki tests the Ferrari for the first time. Or the first time MS tested a F1 at Silverstone.

Hamilton is a great driver but his time has passed.

I don't "love" him, but there is something still there in Hamilton...we can't discount the Sprint race in China. The car's sprint race set up worked for him. I'd rather see him race with that setup, and with no chance to win, and need 4 pitstops come in sixth...then to see the team and Hamilton trying to make the car work with a normal race strategy. Hamilton would have fun being able to go fast and drive like his old self...passing cars and eating up the tires. At the end of the race, he and the team would look better.
