ISO of part # 64280200. It is the replacement for part # 65230100. It is the blower motor for the A/C and Heat. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Derrick
You mean it is the regulator for the blower motor for the A/C and heat. According to the Eurospares website, the 6480200 replaces the 65230100. What is not clear is if they are actually available. When Eurospares puts crazy prices on their items, it's usually a sign that they only have one left and that the factory doesn't have one. The Eurospares price is U$7,500. Most folks these days will be opting to have them repaired at a fraction of the cost... https://www.technozen-electronics.co.uk/mg-zs-rover-45-ferrari-climate-control-repairs/ As the website says, it's important to make sure that the fan isn't drawing too much current (or you'll just blow up your new unit). Which car is it for?
I sent my unit to this individual/company. They sent it back saying it couldn't be repaired. They never even opened it. Charged me $400.00. I had a friend that is an electrical engineer open it and is attempting to repair it. He needs the spec/data sheet though. I have no idea where to find that?
Weird and outrageous. Another company here... Charging UKP400 https://www.berlinettaengineering.com/products/electric-fan-regulator-ferrari-64280200?srsltid=AfmBOoqOMXo_QHuX-n4PmoaGkZjYRWINVCvGe-XIUiskF2g4s0LVl7c1
Are you sure? The last one is based in Wales (Cardiff). The first one is in England (Brighton) on the opposite side of the UK.
I suppose the next best thing is finding a second hand unit and having it updated with new transistors, although I'd be very reluctant to send it back to the same people. Did you try contacting them directly for clarification?
Yes I did contact them. If I could find the data/specs on the regulator I could update the transistors myself. No idea where to get that info?
As the 360's & F430's use the same part number regulator... This thread might be useful... https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/148332389/ .... noting that other components in the device can be damaged by excessive current/heat.
FYI: There are 2 types of these units; sealed and unsealed. I had a sealed one. It was sent to the UK to be rebuilt and I was told it could not be rebuilt b/c it was sealed. HOWEVER; with nothing to lose I gave it to Josh at Relentless Motorsports. He was able to take it apart and rebuild it! We installed it yesterday and it is working perfectly. I highly recommend Josh if you are in need of this blower motor to be rebuilt.
Question regarding the above please: What was the specific issue attempting to be fixed with the rebuild described above? I have been looking for a fix for my 2002 575 which corrects the actual air output of the AC/Heater. Currently, when the fan speed is set at 1-2-or 3 there is VERY little air output. When set to "4" the output is incredibly forceful (and noisy) and most likely as Ferrari intended for the "4" setting. Any help with this would be most appreciated as I have the car scheduled to go in for service in a few days and would like this issue finally addressed after 17 years of ownership. Thank you in advance to all that offer responses.
Faulty fan speed regulators have caused a variety of different issues. It's likely that that is what is causing your issue. I would definitely attempt to have it fixed. The prices on some sites are beyond ridiculous: Image Unavailable, Please Login (EDIT: sorry, Australian dollars shown, but still ridiculous) Not sure why they call it a "solenoid valve regulator".
You can simulate max speed by disconnecting the controller and shorting out the blue and black wires on the two pin plug (bypassing the controller) Image Unavailable, Please Login
My issue was the fan would not stop when the car was off. Another issue I have heard of is the fan not turning on. Both are resolved with the rebuild of the blower motor (the unit Qavion depicts above) However, I also have the same issue you describe with the fan speed. That issue is seperate from the blower motor. Resolving that issue requires taking the control panel for the fan speed dial out and replacing the faulty electronic components and replacing it. Relentless Motorsports will be fixing mine after I take the panel out.
Also, they do not make the blower motors anymore and they are unobtainable. You will find companies say they have them on their website but when you try to buy them they will say out of stock. They are used in 360, 430, 456, 550, 575, Enzo, Maserati MC12 and the Maserati Coupe and Grandsport.
Panel issues are fairly rare. How did you come to the conclusion it was the panel and not, say, the ECU? Did you swap it with a known good one?
I had the exact same problem. I went to universal autosport this spring, they were able to source a new fan speed variator 64280200 for $2300, fixed the problem
What the heck is inside this module that makes it so expensive?? Or is it just because it says Ferrari on the outside?
