There's nothing "just because" about that engine. It's magical, at least when it isn't suffocated with GPFs and mufflers.

I still walked away, because you're right, it doesn't matter if it doesn't add up to the experience you want. But I struggled with it because I had been so excited to spec a car with that glorious engine. Pretty sure that's what he's working through.

Boy oh boy, we have a lot in common pal as I also have a Roma Spider too and agree that it's very playful and provides more thrill from the exhaust. My impression having driven the 12C is that it's truly a GT as the standard seats were very comfortable and the car felt commanding at every opportunity to goose it. But to your point, the exhaust is muted, not visceral unless you're accelerating very aggressively. I'm tall too and found the cabin spacious but would get the glass roof for the same reasons. The blind spots are real however if you rely on the side mirrors blindspot warning lights, it becomes tolerable. The spider version is probably the same even top down because of the huge buttresses. I've seen some pics of the 12C in black and the car looks quite differently, more cohesive but the contrast elements can also be appealing. Ferrari should offer a sport exhaust system for countries (like the US) outside of the EU that aren't burdened by their regulations. I'm holding an allocation spot too wanting the experience of owning a naturally aspirated 12 cylinder from Maranello but also curious of what they're unveiling this month.

I did spec my RS and love it. I was excited about the car at launch, put down a deposit that day, got more excited when initial reviews/videos were positive, and then it far exceeded expectations once I took delivery. It's a keeper for sure. As @joem said, it's playful and has a great sound. Also more versatile than I expected while always being an "event".

Spot on! You noted before they made a true GT and that is accurate. It's a great car and I welcome it being a GT. That said, I also expect it to be "an event". It still could have been and it really is not.

You should test drive an 812 GTS. Yes, you won't get to spec it, but you might like it, or maybe you won't. But, at least you'll know. The Roma is a great package as well.

My first impression of looking at it is oh, it is smaller than the pictures, oh the strip is uglier than I thought. The sound is notoriously more mute than my 812 GTS.

Didn't mean disrespect to those who ordered the 12C. I am just glad it makes me have less reasons to play the Ferrari games further.

Was offered a Roma by my dealer. I'm sure its a nice car and isnt as thirsty as the 12C.

But having never been allowed to own a new V12, I will stay true to course for the 12C.

Having been teased with the promise of a new 599, but no luck, and then an F-12 but no lick and an 812 coupe , again no luck and then the 812 GTS and still no luck. Well, I am getting the message. I'm not a Roma buyer.

If i dont get the 12C allocation, then..."Thank you Ferrari for helping me save 2M on new Ferraris which would have depreciated like a rock."

if I dont get the 12 C --then Im done with the brand and its lies.

Or maybe Ferrari has me in their heart. They know that their V12 engine wont be able to run more than 13,000 miles before blowing up and needing a complete new engine replacement.

I agree with you, from a dynamic standpoint, it's an underestimated car.

I have owned at least 3 V12 Ferraris that I drove a lot more than 13,000 miles and none of them blew up (also owned a couple that i drove for less). The engines themselves are quite bulletproof ... it's a lot of other **** that goes wrong from time to time.
Having said that ... anything after my 2013 FF ... was super solid all around. No major issues ... I wouldn't worry about it on a modern car.

You are not going to like the sound at all but if you can put that thought aside I think you are going to love the engine response and transmission.

is that an issue with the dealer? My dealer has never played that with me. If he says he will have me an allocation, he does.

Something is very wrong then. I have only been in the Ferrari game four about 2 years and just gave away my 12C Spider Allocation. I simply prefer the 812 GTS in every way possible and have no interest in moving on anytime soon. Ive also put 10K miles on it and it’s been fairly flawless. The dealership I built a relationship with offered me a 12C Spoider fairly easily. Shouldn’t be that hard given your history….

Yes I agree with everybody else. Discuss your situation with a different dealer. Something is off.

    Not so in my case.
Buy the California to get a very late allocation for the 458

Buy an FF for a more desirable V12

Buy the Lusso for the next V12 GT

Too few cars for too large a territory

And better to sell to those who order every option and never drive the car.

3 yo Ferrari with less than 1,00 miles.

    Original tires and fluids

I have driven over 300,000 miles in my Ferrari’s

How many have you owned and how many miles have you driven?

I should have beenable to have owned a few more as I do not flip cars for money. I placed ordered and was told to be patient

But my story isn’t that strange given one can only buy from their assigned dealer in the USA

I live in Malibu so that’s why my name is Malibuguy and why I am forced to only deal within my territory dealer

Don’t get mad at me cause I thought you lived in Dubai. Thats disrepecful.

I have many friends who live in the Middle East

    Qatar and Jordan.

Did my medical training in Houston.
Great town for medical work. Great culture and people. Honest and real.

lousy weather although I adjusted as I left.

(In a serious relationship with a great woman from Dallas . Austin is another great city. My roommate while at Stanford was from Midland. His family was in the oil game.)

I wish I was dealing with a dealership in Texas. Or anywhere else for that matter. Too many Arnold’s, Dolfs, Manns, etc etc

They have their assistant call an declare their need for a car in a week or two

I’m sorry to be stumped with your sandstorm comment - Dubaicity is just my nickname in the forum because I was there when I opened this account and other nicknames were taken already at that time :)
As everyone can see my location is Germany.

I guess there must be more than one Ferrari dealer around Malibu so with your Ferrari history try to change your dealer.
Some of my friends did that out of different reasons here in Germany - your dealer situation can’t get worse.
