oh it's been expressed here many times.... fire him now and put the kids in. His negagtove energy is the same as at MB, he's nothing but a pile of whning and excuses
Yeah, you have far more knowledge & insight into racing in general and F1 in particular than does J.P. Montoya . . . okay, got it
Lewis is old. Happens to all of us. There is also some question as to how good he was even at his peak. He couldn't beat George in a car he knew well. Chances of him beating Charles in a second rate Ferrari seems very unlikely. There was never a rational reason to bring him to Ferrari. Just like there was no rational reason to hire Fred Vasseur. Sometimes you can read a book by its cover. Dark days for the team. Somebody tell a joke.
I think TODAY there are two drivers that in some fantasy equal car wont be beat. Max and Charles. Most, not all, agree that Max is the best. Look at how he fights with Charles. They both fight clean. To me at least that means respect for a worthy.
Glad you did, because anyone insinuating ferrari should concentrate on the slower demotivated driver rather than the fast comited one is stupid.
True, they are both a few steps ahead ofr the rest, wich one is best? we still need a proper championship fight with equivalent cars to find out....
So for those of you not on social media there has been a major shift in Ferraris accounts. They are now getting relentlessly bashed by Lewis fans who are 100% convinced Ferrari is purposely sabotaging him and favoring Charles. Apparently asking Lewis to let Charles by in Spain broke them. Almost every comment relates to “equal cars”, “fix his car”, “treat Lewis fair”, etc. So Elkhan’s brilliant marketing move just exploded in his lap. There goes all those hat sales unless Lewis somehow manages to get a win asap.
Lewis fans, at least most of them, are delusional. They just can't accept the F1 drivers life cycle in F1. They're in the "It's not Lewis's fault he's doing somewhat mediocre(or less than mediocre) against Leclerc." Or You get the " Of course Lewis is doing bad in Ferrari because Ferrari is catering to Leclerc." And you can tell them till your blue in the face-->" Hey, your driver sucks against Leclerc!!".......and they still won't believe you. Utter and completely delusional.
"As you do your bed, now you lie in it" goes the saying. I will never understand Elkan's interest in recruiting Hamilton. If Lewis doesn't go before the end of his contract, he will be a stone in Frederic Vasseur's shoe 'til the end, IMO.
At the end of last season Lewis finished 22 pts. behind George in the standings. So far this season he is 23 pts. behind Charles. If we take the cars as roughly equal (as I do) then we must assume that Lewis' decline is steeper this year than last. He had two wins last year (equal to George) yet hasn't sniffed a podium outside of the sprint win. I didn't expect him to best Charles this year but I did think he would be better than what he has shown. It's sad but nobody (outside of F.A.) beats Father Time.
Please don’t mention brilliant and Elkann in the same sentence. Let’s not forget he has already taken to near bankruptcy Stellantis and that his short-term policies has seen loyal Ferrari customers angrier than ever watching how their (our cars) are losing value thanks to him being perhaps as brilliant as his obscure protégé’s He’s more like a tumor.
If we correct Spa 2024 so George has enough rubber post race and doesn't get DQ'd, that's 32 pts alone bringing the gap between GR and LH to 55 pts. 2024 wasn't as close as the final point standings show.
Not to derail the thread, just a little side step Alonso is probably also impacted by his age, but: - he does not have a car supposed to be very good, which lowers expectations at his advantage - he has a terrible team mate, so that he has no competition with a similar car, and the quality of his car remains totally unknown
I know Alonso goes to his karting school to keep his reflexes "up-to-snuff" at his age when he finds the time. He's certainly not going to fashion galas that's for sure on his time off.
Hamilton is and has always been in a constant pursuit of style, glamour and elegance as a way to transcend and overcome his complexes. Sadly style, glamour and elegance are not and haven't ever pursued Hamilton. Rather, they run in his opposite direction.
Speaking of transcending: this post and reality. Lewis has many faults, and has made many mistakes (Almave? what, man?) but his impact to style and, as subjective as it is, glamor aren't really in that list. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Even Alonso, who I am a fan of, if he were up against a top driver this year, would be getting blown out. As you may recall, back in 2018 Norris and Alonso were at Daytona in IMSA in the same car. Norris absolutely obliterated him on pace, and that was...7 years ago. Damn I'm getting old.
