    Hello -

My SF 90 was in the dealer for a lithium bather change and annual service, and I was surprised to get a call from them saying that some of the Titanium wheel bolts need replacement.

They believe they were tightened to forcefully causing this damage and impeding the tread (which they said they fixed at a machine shop to avoid replacing the disks). Bottom line I need to replace 13 bolts.

I was surprised to hear that each bolt is 600-800 usd. Are there any recommendations? Where can I get those from for a better deal? Are there aftermarket parts for Ferraris etc?

Who took the wheels off last time and overtorqued the bolts? That dealer? Titanium wheel bolts take a little lower torque than the steel ones.

Just confirming they said each bolt is $600-$800? That must be the Ferrari tax. Don’t pay that, there are several places that sell titanium lug bolts that look identical to yours for $500ish for the whole set. Be careful not to get any Chinese garbage.

I bought a set for my 430 for about that and they look the same as yours. I forget the company name, but a Google search should find it.

Looking at the picture closer, it looks like someone spun the bolts in or out with an impact gun which galled the shank of the bolts. They have to be installed and removed by hand.

I had a flat tire and I saw them fixing it using a gun. I didn’t know they had to be installed by hand.

I will search for titanium lug bolts on the internet but want to be careful not to order cheap Chinese ones. So if anyone has a trusted recommendation I’d appreciate it.

ACER Racing has these and the quality is quite good.

Sadly those bolts are junk now. Ti is weaker then steel. You should not tighten over 90 ft lb without risk of damage/failure.

I use 80ft lb on all my Ti bolt cars.

The factory tightening spec for most 5x108 Ferraris is around 98 - 100 NM (aka 72-74 ft lb).

I just ordered the ACER set, will get them and let people know what I think.

They cost $430 shipped to the Middle East, while Ferrari quoted me $11k and other European car part supplier websites quoted replicas for 1500 pounds.

I’m sure you will be happy with them. Mine were spectacular and look great on the car.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Ferrari is getting them from the same supplier and jacking the cost way up.

Be sure the installer uses a torque wrench to tighten them and spins them in and out by hand.
