8.5 is unnecessarily wide for a 348/55. I doubt it was intended for that chassis. Let’s see… <popcorn>

See what happens when you powder-coat? Can’t see your wheel specs!

    18 x 8.5 +44 sits effectively the same as 18 x 8 +49 with an 11mm spacer.

Depends on the tire my friend. The tire rubs, not the wheel. If you go to an 8.5 you’re going to want to run 235s or 245s.

I have 235’s right now. Very possible my setup could rub under hard driving. Haven’t put it to the test yet. But my car isn’t super low either. I have it at the highest FHP recommended specs.

Part numbers for 348 challenge wheels are as follows:

    Front - 167493

    Rear - 167494

Eurospares shows these to be OZ wheels.

I think if you pushed it, especially at race height, it would rub. Anyway, it’s possible they ran 8.5” fronts but I think it’s unlikely.

Could it be the correct designated challenge wheels for the 348 is really OZ Chronos, but 348 guys simply prefer Speedlines?

Would be nice to know sizes and offset of OZ’s.

That would be a reason to design a less aggressive size…

Could be, but they didn’t change the pictogram for the 355 parts diagrams.

Also, have we *ever* seen pics of a 348 in the pits with Chronos?

Were OZ Chronos 17’s? That would answer it.

All I know is Ferrari would not have allowed an unapproved wheel in the challenge series.

Those chrono offsets are weak. Speedlines look better. And yeah, definitely 17”

I’m not seeing anything official in any marketing brochures for OZ wheels. You’d have to look into the 1995 348 Challenge Parts Catalog for answers.

You haven’t been paying attention ;). Actually most confirmed sizes (with pics) show the rear 18 x 10 +68. I haven’t seen a confirmed +77.9 yet, which would be equal in size to standard wheels.
