Got my picture April 7, taking delivery May 31 (today). The car was already in the port when that picture arrived (status 91). It sat in the port from Mar 28 to May 20 when it was loaded on a truck and it took almost 2 weeks for the delivery to the dealer late on May 29. Of course the dealer is in Arizona and the car started out in New Jersey which could explain the longer truck time. My dealer says they still have 16 cars at the port since end of March. Only one other car of theirs was on the transport with mine.
If it follows what many of us recently experienced, it should be on a truck near the end of this month, but hopefully sooner!
LOVE this car, but I'm starting to wonder if sitting at the port for weeks is causing problems related to battery power. I'm 100 miles short of completing the break-in period, and then I can really get a sense of its performance, but even with RPM limits during break-in, the car is amazing. The only problem I'm having is with one warning light (Engine control system failure - go to dealer) that comes On within a few seconds of the ICE starting up. The message disappears after 10 seconds, but the Yellow engine symbol stays illuminated in the lower left side of the screen (as expected considering the message). It does not affect the car, it drives fine with no noticeable issues. Someone from the Dealership drove 2 hours to my home and performed a diagnostic and reset the warning. I later started it, and drove a couple of miles without receiving any warnings. I stopped at a restaurant for one hour then started the car without any problems or any warnings. Halfway home the same warning message reappeared, as did the engine symbol, but the car was fine. The Dealer will pick up the car on Monday and do some additional diagnostics, including battery checks and I assume the ECU and ECM as well. All of that said, people seem to be focused on the low voltage battery, and I've read others have experienced similar issues. I wondering if sitting without being charged for 7 weeks (plus the shipping I assume) is damaging these batteries to the point they don't properly hold a charge. Mine is always plugged in to the charger immediately upon entering the garage, and the both battery levels always show full. I'm posting this because of the long waits at the port and curious if others have experienced the same thing. (Still LOVE the car!!)
I had the exact same issue with the 2023 296GTS demo that I purchased. The check engine light would il\luminate, I'd take it to the dealer, they would reset it, and then it would come back on fairly soon after. This happened three times and along with other issues, I simply made them take the car back and got an F8 Spider instead. Now that my new 296 GTS has arrived, I'm hoping I don't see this issue again. They came up with a number of reasons the light went on, including an oil filler cap that wasn't sealing, and other stuff (different each time and probably wrong each time). Not sure if you are getting this because of the long wait in port, but that was not what the case was with the 2023.
Thanks for that input. We'll see what they find next week! Frankly, I don't see it as a big deal, it hasn't affected anything else with the car and it does go away after 10 seconds, but I do want it fixed.
My GTS had the same thing, and in my case, I took it for an hour long drive, put the car away, locked, plugged in, came back the next day, and the error has gone. Like magic! I hope the same for you.
These miraculous creations are Italian. They require understanding, deference, listening and love. Even when not inside driving her, I still think about my sweet GTB, her screams and ferocity and yet gentle touch every second of every day. After one electronic glitch for which I take absolute responsibility, she’s never ever shown any signs of distress.
What color is this? Titanio? Looks so good. Has me rethinking my Nero ds order. Just out of curiosity, what color interior and wheels/calipers?
Hi , I am not in the US however my car was on the water for some thirteen weeks. The cars are put in ‘logistics mode’ which basically only allows the drivers doo to open and limits the speed and all functions on the car . This should ensure the car is not harmed in transit or waiting before delivery . I do not know how it works in there US however where I am the car gets to the dealership before it is taken out of logistics mode . I hope this helps .
Yes titanio. Interior Mandarino Antigua. Heck it’s been three years since I’ve ordered the car I don’t even remember the calipers. I know they were no charge so black or silver. I’m thinking of having them painted to match interior when I get the car. I know a great guy that can replicate the factory.
