I've driven all the Huracan derivatives including the Evo at some point. That engine is an all time classic, particularly in the Technica. I cannot believe it complies with all the drive-by noise regs!
But the F8 is much faster and much more comfortable. I recently did a driving event on UK roads in a Technica and for the first time ever, I got back ache from driving a car. The combination of rock hard suspension, almost no padding in the carbon seats and terrible UK roads was awful.
My F8 on the other hand is easily the most comfortable mid-engined car I've ever driven. It somehow combines an incredibly supple ride with unbelievable handling, sheer witchcraft!
The only aspect that lets it down is the overly silenced stock exhaust, but I've remedied that with a Novitec/Capristo set up and it is now perfect in my opinion.
Through Auto Vivendi supercar club I've been fortunate enough to drive virtually every production supercar made in the last few years and I chose to put my own money into an F8 Spider. Draw your own conclusions.

Hi David, Thank you for your informative response. Indeed people rave about the engine in the huracan and the sound as a NA engine against the turbo Ferrari. The Ferrari engine has won some awards or something i believe and has been highly recommended to me by people in the business that only deal in high end super and hyper cars, however I know them personally and there is nothing to gain for their recommendation. Still the sound is a huge issue. Weighing this up against comfort and the drive of the F8 I am leaning towards the F8. I get that such cars are never going to be the most comfortable but some are just too much which the huracan seems. I know about the novitec and other exhausts for the F8 but i'd rather keep it stock. If I had to change the exhaust on the F8 due to wear then I would consider an aftermarket exhaust. This would be in time though and may never happen.

I truly appreciate your advice... likely more than you will understand. I genuinely feel your advice in my heart. You have taken time out of your schedule to pass on your experience without knowing me or even knowing if I am serious. Some people on forums are often skeptical, but those with decency dont care or dont question the unknown. I will remember this for the rest of my life. I will likely print out this entire thread and keep it for memories. Please understand I should not be able to afford this car. I wanted a 911 Turbo S, but have had a few porsches and decided it's time to step up.

I would like to thank everyone that has taken the time to share their experiences and advice. Please remain as you are... decent and honourable. I could have arranged to test drive these vehicles, even the manufacturer's press vehicles or other as the company I know in London has very close contact with all these manufacturer's for many years. I didn't, as I did not thinkit would matter as the drives would be easy and I would not drive a vehicle over the speed limit if i do not own it. People that know me, know this about me which is why although I have few friends they trust me 100% and are willing to go out of their way for me and have done so many times. I believed I would try and ask here to get the information I needed which has worked.

Even replies not only based on either the F8 or huracan have been of great assistance. Y'all remain you!

THANK YOU ALL. (in capitals as it means a big thank you, not shouting as it can mean)!!

    Reveal time...

On Saturday I went to see an F8 without an appointment, actually to see the air intake for the brakes. This was the only car spec I would choose out of 13 cars available but the colour was not my first choice. Looking at the car IRL was too hard to walk away from. Anyway, I made the purchase but would rather keep it quiet until I collect the vehicle. I spent more than I wanted but the spec is right, having it in red would have taken more time to find, there were only 3 red available and none were the spec i wanted at all, one didn't even have the carbon fibre steering wheel with LED's, just a basic leather steering wheel. So this vehcile in red could have been an easy £10k more even with a lesser spec. Then it would have gone quickly and possibly before getting onto autotrader as people buy for summer and have contacts at dealers. I'm a complete nobody, i'm still in shock and very nervous but in a good way. Is this really happening to me? I have no family, no education and could not afford to eat regularly till I was 24. I still have family who try to affect me mentally, cousins whom i grew up with. Even very recently but I avoid them at all costs. I will not 'friend' any family member on facebook as a result but still i get messages but only to try to make me jealous such as one cousin who's mum passed, then called as he has always struggled to get a job, does not want to work but wants the money but now felt strong as he was getting an inheritance! He even told me how much. On top of this his inheritance is one property that his sister controls as he is so untrustworthy! He also proceeded to tell me about another cousin whom I was very close to (but this was in my mind) who purchased a brand new merc S class coupe, beautiful car. This does not faze me, I wish them to be successful but also to leave me alone.
My mother told me when i was 15 that she would not leave me any money, not that I asked nor is it important to me... what is, is family but I have none at all and I accept it. I don't know my dad but know he would never help also. I am not in contact with any family at all.

Really...is this happening to me? I've had 4 porsches and still have 2, when i bought my first one, a 911 in my mid 20's, most of my family stopped talking to me but it took me 6 months before i told anyone as we have some mutual friends so I never told anyone for 6 months to avoid any issues. When they stopped talking to me i wished i had told them earlier! Still i remain me, but this time at this level of vehicle I have decided to put pics on my facebook as they monitor it to snoop. Maybe they will finally all leave me alone!

It will take time to sink in. I wish to remain grounded also. I did not want to post pics here but will do so to show my appreciation as it is the people who have given advice and not raised doubt that keep such forums alive and on topic. It was from such advice that I made up my mind despite the huracan being my first choice initially. I then decided to get a fluo capsule over the evo. Then I thought I would leave it up to fate to decide by taking the first I found in the right spec (F8 or fluo capsule). From the advice here I decided the F8 was the right choice so went to see an F8 in the wrong colour and bought it.

    Thank you all.

Picked it up on Friday and i'm over the moon, really like wow. I know I have made the right decision and i'm still in shock.

I do have a question, I get the HiFi is not important to everyone and that's fine.
I have the JBL sound system, it seems to have a 20gb Hdd with all 20gb available.

How (if i can) can i transfer music to the HDD? I can't find anything in the manual.

    Absolutely stunning, congratulations!
I love Grigio Silverstone, had it on my F430 Spider.
Enjoy the car in good health!
The best advice I can give if this is your first supercar is to get some performance driving coaching to learn how to handle it properly and safely.
It is a very safe and capable car, but nobody is born with the knowledge and experience to handle a 710hp car, especially on the road with all its hazards.
I’ve been driving performance cars for nearly 40 years and still regularly undergo training of some sort, indeed I just did a great day at an airfield on Sunday.

Not necessarily track day training, if F8F8evoevo doesn't intend to drive on track, then there any number of excellent performance driving coaches who specialise in advanced road training. Probably not such a big thing in the US where the roads were designed around cars.

Nice thing about an F8 is that you likely will never get kicked off track for violating the noise limit. I got black flagged in my Evo the last track event.

I think for teenagers in drivers eduction class they cover some defensive driving and how to manage car control but I'd believe that we (USA) have nothing like some countries in Europe. People here in the USA... honestly, a lot can't really drive and handle a car. However track days here in the USA are beneficial also for street driving for a lot of points for car control.

I second track drivers training, it will sharpen your skills on the road and will make you respect and understand the capabilities of you as a driver and your car.

    Congrats on the F8!

Indeed I will be doing some form of training, for me this is only natural and goes without saying, not that I am objecting to the recommendations. This is not my first supercar, however I would say the F8 is in a different league to the 911. I got a free one year sub to the Ferrari owners club, spoke to them today and they organise such events. I will look into what they offer, however if anyone knows more about the training organised by the Ferrari owners club UK please chime in. I believe they want me to track my vehicle which i'm not so keen on. In any case it would have to be in an F8.

I am being very cautious, actually too cautious but I am so happy doing so as I am at low risk of incident. Basically I have been driving in wet mode for over 95% of driving. I guess this is what age and gratitude has done to me. Take the mick all you like, i am happy and that is all that matters.

Any other training recommendation in the UK would be great.

    Initial thoughts on F8.
Amazing vehicle, just amazing. comfortable to the point it can be daily driven. F8 is wide but I also have a 4x4 so for me is just not an issue at all. I have not once worried about the width. The ADAS pack is brilliant, I can cruise on the motorway, on roads where there are speed cameras and not even care to think about where i put my feet. This thing basically drives itself. It comes to a complete stop and drives away following the car in front. Some small issues if you stop on a bend and the car in front pulls away but as everything it takes getting used to. It handles most speed bumps very well without the need for the lift but we have many roads / bumps where the lift is a must. JBL system is nice, not always used but when it is, it is just nice nothing special but this is a common issue on most supercars. Surround view takes some getting used to, wow this is dodgy. This really needs some testing to figure out which lines to use on the screen and better to change the view to individual cameras rather than the full 360 view which is a mind f**k. I am glad it does have it though.

As everyone has likely experienced, the jealousy started within 10 minutes and will never end, you will never please everyone except young boys. As stated i'm driving slow and being very mindful also to not hold people up. Within 10 mins of collection I stopped off at a service station and a guy in a motorhome approaches me, I tell him I have only just had the car 10 mins and my hands and body are shaking so i stopped. He proceeds to tell me my car isnt taxed and tried to show me on his phone, i ignore his phone as it was purchased through a main dealer and they taxed the vehicle with my credit card so i had no interest. He repeatedly tried to show me his phone but I just said I didn't care as I had just taxed the car 10 minutes ago. Maybe he checked the MOT which was done a few days earlier and this threw him off but still WTF? Not something I would do. I then tell him i'm driving at 45 on the motorway and he says he always see people driving cars like that as if people who own these cars cant drive them. I look at him confused and just say why would he think that when these modern cars are so easy to drive at regular speed or even a bit fast. I tell him a child could drive it at 40 or 60mph and people driving slow on motorways are just avoiding stone chips or every other driver who wants a race. At least 6 times I was followed flashed, then pulled up beside and shouted these words...'give it some'. I believe this is now my name as it has happened so many times. Or people flapping their hand at me, as a sign to floor it! There is another similar sign that springs to mind but I doubt it would go down well.

The best was a young boy near the back of Harrods who stood away from the car to take a pic, I told him he could take more and come closer, he went back to his mum, they both came over and i let him get in, take pics and videos then start it up. He was so polite, respectful and shocked (he reminded me of me). As they walked away he became very emotional. It's sad that such a young boy has so much more respect than so many adults.

    Off topic but still funny.
Thought i'd share this for a laugh. Purchased the plate a couple of months back at DVLA auction. Completely legal, not a show plate.

Late to the party, would have advised Huracan due to awd for uk and that epic exhaust note.
But the F8 looks wonderful and has the cache for sure. Enjoy!
