Oh, I’m sorry. Such a beautiful area! Thought about going to college there but was afraid I would never actually go to class! That’s such a shame. I started with a California but that was just to see if we could live with an Italian beauty queen. I’m 5 hours from the nearest dealership, so reliability is important. I DID pick up a 488 in order to get the 812SF, but that was also intended to see how the mid engine models do, and gave me something fun to drive while waiting for the 812. Was able to get a very early allocation. Being so far away means I get to choose the dealership and I chose the one who treated us best and have stuck with them. I understand their model, but think it hamstrings customers and disincentivizes dealerships from working harder because there is no healthy competition.
Oh gee, that would drive me crazy too. It is definitely good to have some options. I don’t think I would have stayed with the brand if my dealership experience was like that. Amazing mileage! I always buy a car thinking we will do fantastic road trips in it and it will be my one and only. But apparently, I have too many vehicles and my mileage is spread out between vehicles. And I have not been able to be away from work for much time so if we go somewhere, we usually fly because of time. Hopefully that is changing for the better soon and just maybe I can get some good miles on fun cars! And maybe you end up in Dallas or Ft. Worth (my preference of the two)! Thanks for posting the article!
I picked up a used Roma in January and loved it, saw the 12C at Sonoma and drove and asked my dealer for an allocation which they gave. No pressure from them and they gave me what I asked. I'm in California where I think the market is big, but I was pleased with no ******** to get what I asking for.
You don't have to buy from the nearest dealer, you can buy from another dealer if you call and chat with them, and easiest way to do that is to buy a pre-owned vehicle from another dealer and you'll become a "client" of that dealer. Then you can be put on that dealers list for allocations. What you cannot do is have allocations at multiple dealers, that FNA does not allow.
Love the article, I was in it to about our ff experience….I just don’t get how your dealer is treating you. Total bs. I am up north so lots of demand too but my dealer is a gem. Not all are created equal by any stretch. Not sure if another CA dealer could be a pivot but PM me if you want an intro FofSV, have a personal relationship with them now and happy to connect if it made sense.
