As stated above, the original silver wheels can be put back on the car, instead of the black wheels

These wheels were actually offered by Ferrari as an update to the 355 as a dealer installed option about a decade after the car was replaced with the 360.

I never understood why...seems like a downgrade. But nonetheless...they're factory OEM Ferrari parts.

Hey Tres55, very interesting - I did not know that but nonetheless they fit on the car should someone like the darker set.

Maybe a wake-up update for the bored owner? I still do like the OEM Silver wheels the best...personally. But these aren't that bad in my opinion the more I am around the car and with the black GTS top on. ;)

    Thanks
    Carlo

I think your car could benefit from the safety of an airbag steering wheel, I will be happy to trade you for mine :)
GLWS , cool car -- does glovebox "open" as it is an early car (ie where passenger airbag is)

Hey @sfcarguy, I asked Gary to see what sources he has and most likely can get a source or has one.

I believe those black wheels have an interesting history...they are also (now rather rare) factory 355 wheels that were made as an aftermarket option under Ferrari's direction in the mid 2000s. Neat history but they look (subjectively) underwhelming vs OEM,

This is my old car. Happy to answer any questions re:history. Interesting that a new battery was done as I did a new battery <3 years ago. Also had the car fully corrected and 5 year ceramic coated, but maybe that wore off.

They are gunmetal and were factory commissioned as a dealer installed option in the late 90s / early 2000s when owners were having issues with the factory magnesium wheels. Very difficult to find and I sourced this set after a lot of searching.

The OEM magnesium wheels had older style Pirelli all seasons (not sure what the date codes were at the time) when I bought the car. I like to do mountain/canyon runs, so bought the factory gunmetal option set and put Hankook R-S4 tires on them for fun driving. Regrettably, I only got to do a handful of drives before I sold the car, so they should still have great life.

Glovebox does indeed open (or did when I owned it).
