No surprise here. We tried to warn you. https://www.nhl.com/news/pete-deboer-fired-by-dallas-stars-as-coach Image Unavailable, Please Login
And the Knicks, and the NY Jets, and Carolina (NFL), and the Bears... and the Raiders, and the Suns....
Believe me, Stars GM Jim Nill knows his stuff. Nill and DeBoer were tight I think. This didn't come easy for Nill to make the change. More interesting is......... who'll be the new boss of the Stars? DeBoer will land on his feet, wherever.
Up late with our big guy for this game. For those who don't know Paul Coffee was my first boss in sales at his Toyota dealership. Flying to Alberta on Sunday...you never know what's going to happen. At the moment it's 2000 for tickets. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I am glad to see officials calling more of the glaring penalties but they’re not all over it and should be. Once again Sam Bennett takes any contact near the crease as a green light to flop on the goalie, typically with elbows out. He’s obviously trying to interfere without interfering, or in some instances to outright injure. He’s done it with every single goalie they’ve faced throughout the playoffs ffs. It’s abusing the rules just like Fla is with knowing referees won’t fill the penalty box every shift so they just keep being dirty right along, particularly in overtime. It sorta reminds me of how in the NFL we’ve got quarterbacks taking advantage of the rule book Knowing the defenders will get hit with personal foul or roughing the passer flags so they prance up the sidelines relatively unscathed because they know the rules are in their favor. It’s unsportsmanlike and the league(s) need to put a stop to it. Start calling Bennett for embellishment on these things and see how quickly they stop doing it. Or, and truthfully I prefer this option, have Reaves beat the ever loving hell out of Bennett after every accidentally on purpose contact. Maybe someone even takes a run at Bob. But ignoring it is bad form on the league and on the Oilers.
I was watching game 3 and something weird happened. In the 3rd period they switched the game to a rerun of the movie Slapshot.
A wacky goal ends it. But the Oilers had the offensive. Clearly as the game got on the Oilers got stronger and FL weaker. I'm not sure which thought I despise more. Tkachuk or Kane holding the Stanley cup.
