Where can I find the key code to get a spare cut.

I've found a service that will cut them from a code but I don't know where to find it.

    Any ideas?

On a small metal tag on the key ring when the car was new. If you are really lucky it was written in the front of the service book.

if you have the old key nearly every good key shop can find out the code only by locking at the key

Thank you, I did not know that. I thought they'd use the original as a pattern.

sorry, was misstyping - wanted to write: .....only by looking at the key
sure they need the original to copy, but when they know the code they also can do it. but for the code they need the old one. or is it somewhere written in the papers/invoice when new?

Sadly no code written anywhere. It's not in the Classiche folder either.

I have just one key and need a spare. I seem to remember that some Fiat blanks are the same.

    Any ideas?

You can have @gobble make you a key, he should just need a photo of the one you have IIRC

@Ashs - I had @gobble make me a 550 style key for my 512TR because I thought the folding key was really goofy. Not a perfect match for the factory 550 key but very close and a lot less than GBP 800! Looks like a factory 550 key blank from ferrariparts.co.uk is actually cheaper at GBP 72. Might be an option for you if you just need a spare.
