I’m going to assume you’re being facetious—this feels more like displaced angst than a serious critique. If you want clarity on Ferrari’s trajectory, just look at Porsche. They didn’t claw their way back from the edge of bankruptcy by clinging to purist ideals—today they sell ten SUVs and sedans for every 911. You don't like the Macan, great - don't buy it! Walk right past it, and buy your 911. You see, Porsche understands that funding the future of performance means playing the money game. And yet, the 911 hasn’t lost a shred of its legacy because the Taycan exists—it remains iconic, precisely because Porsche didn’t ignore key market segments. One year of Purosangue sales essentially bankrolls Hamilton’s contract. Whether that investment proves worthwhile remains to be seen—but judging by the Ferrari boutique in Miami I witnessed last week, the sellers of branded trinkets seem quite content with the arrangement.
The thing is that Porsche isn´t selling their EVs either (actually, their petrol cars´sales also dropped, but that´s probably a different matter). They´re rushing an unplanned petrol Macan to save their asses. I usually despise purists´opinions, they´re detached from reality and are just a bunch of old ***s that íf allowed would put Borranis in a F80, but this time it seems it´s for real. Only 4% are interested, while when the Purosangue was launched, someone made a poll and there was around a 40% appoval rate despite the purists rants. In the real world, away from the internet purists, the Purosangue was a total success. For whatever reason, people is willing to forgive everything, even a SUV, but not the electric engine. Personally I´d be more interested in an electric sports car than in a V12 SUV: I dislike both but at least the electric EV can look good.
My question is not "would you buy a Ferrari EV?". My question is "Would you buy THIS Ferrari Elettrica?" I think that not only this car is electric, but in my opinion it's very bad looking too: it's as attractive as a 100+ years old lady. That was the question Ciao
That poll is missing the only two options that would ever put one parked way out on the curb, away from the house: - only if I will be given a V12 car - only if I will be given an Icona carEven then, I wouldn't want to be obligated to keeping the computer-laden ICE cars, either. The rolling toasters would only be there (at the curb, in front of the house) as long as it took to dump them.
Interesting number stood out to me, the 4% figure, not sure if you mean that’s the take rate of Taycan or if you’re talking about the percentage that the US population represents of the world, the business man in me usually caters to the 96% of any market. Maybe just me.
He was talking about the most important Ferrari market, the United States one: only 4.4% showed interest into the Ferrari Elettrica, the prototype shown. This is a disaster with the lowest rate of interest that I ever saw: let's see what will happen in the real world Ciao
fortunately the new "EV building" at Maranello production plant is not ready yet. They are still isntalling the shell, so they will need no less than others 6 months to complete it and other six months to have it fully operational in order to assembly cars. So - in my opinion - they can't produce any EV before than a year and very likely they will start producing this - in my opinion awful- EV only in 2026 fourth quarter. Ciao
Yes, they already changed it, no less than one year ago: the new EV building will be prepared for assembling hybrid cars too, as they probably already learned there will be not enough full EV Ferrari demand Ciao
