I just recently received my 2011 458 Italia and it came as a CPO car. The Homelink system is not working as no lights come on when pressing them to program. Is this an item that the Ferrari dealer should have confirmed was working in the 101 point inspection? Is there any type of easy fix to the problem as I am concerned the electronics would not be covered by the 2 year warranty.

Homelink is finicky with these. On my 488 I had to buy an adapter to get it to work. But mine did have the lights turn on to program it.

Here’s the final solution for this tricky home link. It involves a two-step process (which you can partially see in this YouTube video)...
STEP 1: Program your traditional handheld remote to sync with the home link as demonstrated in the video (at 2:20) by simultaneously pressing the handheld button and the home link button you wish to program until the light starts flashing rapidly.
STEP 2: After programming the home link in your Ferrari with the handheld remote, go to your garage door opener and press the learn button. Then, return to your Ferrari and press the same home link button you programmed in Step 1. You should hear a click from your garage door unit, indicating that it has been successfully learned.

This method really worked for me after I struggled for quite some time.

I’ve never had any of my Ferrari’s (360,430,458,F12’s) work with a rolling code opener. I’ve given up trying and carry openers to my community gate and garage door.

Step 1 never worked /synced for me. I can clear and erase by holding button 1 and 3 but when trying to re-sync they physical handheld with any button, it never flashed rapidly. . .

I've had a couple of cars where the Homelink was being stubborn and/or I got frustrated with the instructions.

I then got mad and just held the Homelink button down and pressed the button on the remote over and over and over again. Eventually, it worked and the Homelink light began flashing rapidly and I was able to finish programming the rolling code by pushing the "learning" button on the overhead opener to pair the devices.

Not recommended but it did work for me several times.

Its not just Ferrari. Homelink is like an aftermarket thing but its installed in the factory.

I've had problems with them but there's a lot of information on the internet about how to get them to work or troubleshoot. Ignore the "Ferrari" part when searching. They are a PITA.

Never got the one in my Pista to work. Built-in obsolescence in my opinion.
