I'm booked on a couple of track days in Europe this summer (Spa and Zandvoort) and both have a 103dB static noise limit. (Zandvoort has a drive by limit too). I'm told the challenge is close to that although it's absolutely fine flat out at Silverstone's 105dB limit, I don't want to risk going all the way there only to get black flagged! Is there a quiet exhaust available for the challenge? Would a road car exhaust be quieter? What about turn downs or similar bolt on mufflers? Anyone have any experience with dealing with this nonsense?

    Thanks

We track a 488 Challenge EVO at two tracks here in the US with strict 103dB limits. Never had a warning at either track.
interestigly a street 488 got black flagged one morning but was fine later as the air got warmer which tends to reduce the noise. The 488C was fine during the same morning.
Cold cloudy days with wind direction towards the mic are the toughest conditions for cars to pass sound if close to the limit.

Very interesting thanks. It sounds like the street muffler is actually louder. Hopefully American dB are the same as European! ;)

Not a challenge car owner here but db's will all depend on how close the mic is to the exhaust and how the exhaust outlet is aimed to where the db meter mic is and the weather as pointed out by Mikey64 above.
