Financially I am limited to one F-car at a time. I have my current BBi for sale here on Ferraichat and the FML. Listing price $342,000. I am truly the second owner and the car is as close to original as a 40 plus year old car can be. An engine out service was done in November of 2021. With the help of my buddy Don Bartz we re-worked the AC and it works as well as can be. Other than that the car has been flawless with minor tweaking.

To tell you the truth my 84 BBi 's conversion was sad initially having less than a 1/2 day to enjoy it . Having driven it in European form was great as when i received post conversion it was done methodically to duplicate form and function. No outward visual distinction as in 84 EPA bumpers chged to 5mile impact, door beams did not alter electric windows etc . Had the European lights to reinstall etc. Startup, performance, looks did not change what so ever from European form or function. The biggest chge was the altering of the Factory ignition system to a solitary unilateral Bosh system that controlled all 12 cylinders. They did a beautiful job with the Mufflers leaving the 2 small mufflers stock European and opening the 2 linear mufflers and converting the interior to handle effectively sound, pollution and gas milage. i wish I had retained my Vin numbers to attempt to locate it today..
You mentioned the P51 Mustang & the Citation. Are you A pilot? I sold my plane about 6 yrs ago. Many stories, many adventure etc.

I bought that car. It is a 1/1 car. Uwe restored. Paid less than asking but still a lot. Very happy with it. I’m optimistic that the BB will be appreciated but more important to me is that I love how it drives, smells, and sounds.

I hear you but likely comparable number of gated 430s world wide, as BBi’s produced, then you add in BBs and you are at 2X the number of gated 430s. People toss 10% around but my research suggests it’s closer to 6% or 850 cars.

Ultimately 430 stick is last (most refined/pinnacle) mid-engine gated F car.

Dino/365BB are first mid engine Ferraris. All 3 are special cars. And all 3 cars will matter in my perspective. Firsts and lasts.

it does not surprise me to see these cars offered at higher prices in europe than the usa. it does buck the trend of most other cars....but it makes sense since many in the usa cannot drive a manual, and the car was never a hero car in the usa as it was in europe.

    i suppose there must be.
there is such a wide variance in prices i think because the cost and hassle of restoration can be so high, and hard to find.

but i have tired of singing the praises of this car.
i have resigned myself to the fact that most people dont get it and wont get - literally and figuratively.
and the result is that it stays relatively affordable to own and maintain - as compared to some of my other cars.

(on that subject, one of the things i really hate is when i need a part for the f40....that is really not a complicated part, but as soon as i inquire the price goes up. then i have to sneak around and pretend i am looking for a part for a 308, in hopes that the exact same part will be priced at a normal level. people can be so annoying.)

I kind of like that there is an icon like this that flies under the radar and is "somewhat affordable" (letting my middle class finances show....oops). I have become jaded saving up for cars where the goal posts are always moving. Hell, I can't even depend on steady depreciation on newer cars any more (ex. F8 and 812 GTS) to dream about.

Another example of this is the 365GTC4, beautiful classic Ferrari that doesn't move much price wise.

I do not know about this car, but sometimes the Euro prices include a high VaT.

It seems that in this year of general price depreciation from Rolex to porches to many Ferrari the boxer seems to be doing slightly better than holding its own, which then is way better than other cars. In reality many other cars rode some sort of wave and got well ahead of themselves.
It is also true that boxers have been unappreciated and over time their natural place in the pantheon of greats climbs.

At the Pam beach cavalino the boxer looked absolutely in its place on the lawn with the greats as art, whereas many of the more modern cars really looked like overdone cheezy designs for china.

yea, style and class were the hallmarks of Ferraris for decades, and certainly almost all the Pininfarina designs.
now they look like caricatures of what a teenager might think is a cool car - all imo of course.....

Way too much wind tunnel and the result being no artistry or design. That is why they all look the same.
