Guys, I just noticed this on my car. Is it possible that owning the car for a few months I didn't notice it, maybe given it's only visible depending on the position of the wheel. This scratch is inside the rim. To me, it looks like somebody removed a wheel balancing weight and scratched it. You can maybe see the remains of old adhesive. What do you guys think may have caused it? Thanks

I think you are right. Nothing on the car will cause that.

Previous owner had rear tires changed and because of the position of the wheel I didn't spot it before purchasing it. Shame on me. I really do check over cars, but admittedly I didn't have a look under the top of the rim.

Pretty sure it will clean up with some fine Emory cloth. You will probably end up doing the whole backside of the wheel to clean it up but it won't be a lot of work. As to whoever scratched it up trying to get the weights off......that person should never be allowed near any car.
