1] I was deep in the back country of the South Island, no tv, phone, etc., when Max arrived. How would you guys in the know compare Kimi's beginning with Max's?

2] Imagine Max's exit clauses strike, and Toto signs him. Does he keep Kimi or George?

I would keep Kimi and drop George, he has too many negative behaviourial patterns.

    That depends:

    1) Design a car around Max's preference thereby anyone else such as a team-mate becomes "inferior" and would be lacking in the points.

    2) Design a car around Russell's preference.

In this case, most would go with the multi-WDC title holder's preference regarding car design.

However, both Russell and Antonelli are achieving points with the current car setup.

So it's really a "catch-22" situation when Max is involved as a team-mate.

I was talking more about the ongoing beef between Max and Smug. I see that being a disaster

Caliber of car driven is very different, the Merc being a much quicker car relative to the competition vs Max's Toro Rosso, also sheer scale of Mercedes and it's enormous resources are incomparable.

Max came of a single season of F3 and had very little chance to prepare for F1. He did all his learning on the fly, really. Max's 2nd quali/race already showed his immense talent. Max needed some fine tuning which was resolved by 2018 Monaco when he learned that not every session do you need to give 100%. By going 100% everywhere and every time he certainly ruffled some feathers but it made him who he is.

That said, I'm impressed with Kimi Antonelli. Super nice kid and despite the fanfare that was around him (thanks to Toto), he hasn't let the pressure get to his head and he's quietly doing his thing. I think a lot of people are already forgetting his first race of the season where he showed immense maturity to finish so well after messing up quali. George is no slouch but Kimi was very close to him all weekend in Canada, easy to forget...

As for Toto's dream decision; I think the very reason he hasn't renewed George yet is because he thinks there is a chance of getting Max. And it'll be Max with Kimi as his 2nd driver. The two know each other quite well and get along great.

Max and George, I want Kimi at Ferrari to replace Hamilton. The kid is really good and has impressed me so far this season.

Sky Italia now fueling rumours too. According to other F1 news sources ''tomorrow will be a crazy day''.

Max's answers to the usual question has changed as well in the last month or so. He always used to say "I love Red Bull and I have a contract". Now he's saying "it's not something I'm thinking about".

Says a lot without saying anything

As F1 pursues now obsolete green tech, a figment of govt interference eroded by market forces and common sense, I bet the audience finds quiet battery twiddling less exciting than memories of an exciting pedal to the metal sport of risk and roaring engines. As attendance and tv audiences shrink, I hope the 26 regs are short lived.

It does support Bas' point that Max will want the right to race outside F1....

MB will likely do what ever is required to sign him. It's difficult to find things that would justify Max staying with RB, which is clearly fallen off a cliff. Just firing Horner isn't going to do it.
