Hello folks, been rummaging through some of my grandfather’s belongings ever since be passed, and I uncovered what seems to be a Paneira (?) watch model. Can’t really identify whether it’s real or not, I know a lot of fakes fly around these days for these types of things.

Serial numbers on the bottom look engraved solidly ( I read F6656 BB 189287 - FA 210/700) but I’m mostly just worried about the straps (looking quite old so I’m not sure if they’ve just been mishandled or fake). Has anyone ever seen this model around ? Cheers in advance.

Appears to be model FER00038 by Panerai. I’ve only seen the watch on rubber straps.

Quick Facts Ferrari Engineered by Panerai Scuderia Chronograph Reference FER00038
Case: 45 x 16.75 mm, DLC-coated stainless steel, crown with Ferrari logo, steel case back, water resistance 100 m
Movement: automatic Caliber OP XII (base ETA Valjoux 7750), 46-hour power reserve, 4 Hz/28,800 vph frequency, rotor engraved with Ferrari logo, officially certified C.O.S.C. chronometer
    Functions: hours, minutes, seconds; chronograph
    Year of manufacture: 2009
    Retail price at introduction: $12,600

today worth about $3,000 in good condition

you may want to send to Panerai for a refurbish / service - about $1,000
It looks a bit in rough shape. A Panerai dealer can also authenticate.

would help if you have the original box and papers.
