We’re now able to offer some truly exclusive materials for those looking to go beyond factory specs Here you see a few of the optional extras we can offer — including Jeans Aunde blu, rare Connolly Autolux hides, and other beautifully aged, natural leathers with unique patinas and finishes. These materials are sourced through Zanasi (who handles Ferrari’s tailor-made upholstery), and would normally only be available through Ferrari’s Tailor Made program. All of these options are available as optional extras, depending on material and availability. Haha I actually love that reference, Lego Technic was peak childhood inspo But in reality, this spec is more closely tied to Ferrari history than most realize. The legendary Ferrari 330 TRI/LM Spyder (chassis 0808), which won Le Mans in ’62 and had Rosso paint with blue seats. A lot of Ferrari’s old competition cars ran that combo. Jeans Aunde in a 355 is definitely bold… but it’s not without precedent. And with Zanasi behind the trim, it’s about as far from Lego as you can get
Hints of blue here and there (with almost any exterior color) is certainly trending in the Ferrari world. If not a throwback to the 60’s, then a nice complimentary touch for cars with NART blu stripes, which is also trending. Will it stand the test of time? Who knows? But it does appear unique to Ferrari history, which helps differentiate from color schemes used by other automotive brands. It’s one of those things, those who know … know. Those who don’t will find it odd, understandably. Personally, as long as the blues are strategically placed vs half car red/half car blue (Spider Man look)… it’s a nice fun look which gestures back to the vintage/NART Ferraris of the past. Gives just enough “pop” …. a lil’ spice in a bowl of chili . All I know is it’s trending and why should only the new Ferraris have all the fun?

Hi everyone, quick update for those waiting on the carbon seats: The custom-dyed leather (Beige 4208, Nero, Bordeaux) has now been fully produced and delivered to the workshop. Each color is made to match the original Ferrari tone and finish, using traditional VAT-dyeing for full-depth coloration. This is not off-the-shelf material – the hides were made to order, which takes around 6 weeks. The molds for the carbon seat shells are now complete, and trimming has officially begun. My own 550 seats (Bordeaux) are being used as the test pair to finalize the fitment, foams, and finish – and all customer orders will follow in sequence. According to the current production schedule, the first sets should be ready to ship by mid-to-late June. Mechanical components and foam inserts are already in production. Thanks again for your patience. Our goal is not only to match OEM spec – but to deliver something even better, with sharper quality control and full documentation of materials used. Feel free to reach out if you’d like updates specific to your configuration. Initial post: “Made to Order – Built for Your Ferrari Each seat is made to order, with a typical production time of 30–40 days.” Current post: “This is not off-the-shelf material – the hides were made to order, which takes around 6 weeks.” Math isn’t mathing as late June will be 90 days. Would have been nice to have a real estimate from the get go
Hi Edward, appreciate the comment and I hear you. You’re right, the original timeline of 30–40 days was based on a best-case projection, before leather production began. Once we decided to use VAT-dyed leather (to match OEM tone and depth), the supplier confirmed a 6-week production window just for tanning and finish. That added time. What I could have done better was update that estimate earlier once we locked in the materials and specs, that’s on me. The trimming has now officially begun and I’ll continue sharing updates from the shop as they progress. Once the first sets are finished and shipped, we’ll have a much tighter benchmark for future orders. Thanks again for your patience and for calling it out — Reza CarbonSeats.com
Hi everyone, just a quick clarification based on recent questions: I completely understand the concerns around timeline, and you’re absolutely right to expect clear and transparent updates. Here’s where we are: The custom-dyed leather (Beige 4208, Nero 8500, Bordeaux 4481) has now been fully produced to exact Ferrari Autolux specs using VAT-dye – not surface-treated or stock hides. This process took about 6 weeks from raw hides and was completed recently. The total shipment (129 kg) has now arrived at the workshop and is undergoing final inspection. The molds for the carbon seat shells are complete All mechanical and foam components are now in progress My OEM 550 seat is currently being used as a reference for fitment, trimming, and leather tension testing Once that validation is done, all customer orders will follow the exact same approved process in sequence. This extra layer of quality control helps us ensure that every detail, shape, density, stitching tension, meets the standard we’ve set. Based on the current forecast, we still expect the first finished customer sets to ship mid-to-late June. I’ll share updated photos as each milestone is reached. Thanks again for your trust. We’re building something that hasn’t existed in over 20 years, not just to copy OEM, but to exceed it in consistency, documentation, and material precision. Feel free to DM me if you want updates tailored to your order.
Just a quick note to all who are following the seat project: I’ll be heading to Maranello next week to visit the workshop and see the trimming process up close. Super excited to finally see the first full sets come together in person, carbon shells, correct leather, foam, everything. I’ll be posting live updates and photos from the factory, happy to share the progress with you all as it happens. Thanks again for your patience and support, this project is personal, and I truly appreciate the trust you’ve placed in us.
Just so you guys know, I have had a pair of seats stuck in the Oakland customs office for over a week. Sooooo there is that issue, hoping it’s easier for all you guys. From a different company and a different country (Netherlands)
Question regarding the seatbelt buckles: it’s my understanding that the factory buckles on a car that had the standard seats will stick out further when they are replaced with the new carbon buckets. Was there a different, shorter buckle with a different part number for cars with the optional carbon buckets? And if so, can these shorter buckles be ordered?
