yeah ad nauseam. And to be quite honest now back to stock. I kinda like it more. Was losing all rev below 4000 RPM and now that’s back. Maybe a bit quieter but quality is better. Still doesn’t sound great. Upsetting. Going for a long drive later. May be my last.

What do you exactly mean..."losing all rev below 400rpm"? Not really running great below 4k rpm less torque or sluggish?

Like I've said in the past I often wonder about these so called "tunes" and if they really can deliver all the stock power. I know some will deliver more power but it is measured only at 1 point in the rpm range.

Back in my Porsche days at the track my stock Porsche, which ever model I had at the time Carrea S, GTS, GT3's against the same car but with exhaust and ECU tune would stay right with or out run modded Porsche's.

What really brought these thought to life was on a run from Tampa with my neighbor to Naples Florida in 2017 I was in a 2017 Porsche GTS and my neighbor was in a 2015 TurboS that was cat delete and tuned and off the line my stock GTS would pull a little on him then he'd catch me and pull 1/2 a car length or so until around 120mph and I'd pass him. From a 70mph cruise on up he could not pass me. He was so pissed as he just got the car used and tuned from the exotic car dealer he returned it and traded it in that day in Naples Florida!!!. LOL. I joked about that for year until his wife told me to stop teasing him as he can't take jokes. Weird dude for sure!

I just meant there is no sound until like 3500 RPM’s. Power is there but sound is not. OEM has better low rev sound.

That is not my experience with the valve controller set to open on my identical set up.
It is almost stock quiet at low revs with the controller in OEM mode, but set to open it is subtly but noticeably bassier and more throaty sounding at low revs then progress and tunefully louder and more purposeful as you climb the revs, reaching a crescendo as you hit peak revs.
There are undoubtedly louder and more aggressive options out there, but the 250 cat/valved inconel set up is an ideal “OEM plus” set up for me, refined and calm in stock mode cruising on the highway, civilised savagery on full throttle at high revs with the valves open.
I have professional videos going live soon that will allow you to make up your own mind, but sound is a very subject aspect, everyone is entitled to their own preferences.

Just my opinion, but if the sound meant that much to me, I would just take the risk with warranty and go to 100 cell or catless with a tune.

I feel like I would be happier going that route, over trading it for a scud. Nothing wrong with a scud, but it's no f8.

This is false. After significant work taking off the F8 diffuser for the first time, which is far more work than on the 458, and disconnecting and plugging the vacuum lines, I have a check engine light. It took about 10 miles to light up, but it did. At first I was very pleased with the idle and low RPM sound improvement, but now a CEL. I assume this will void the warranty too??

Does anybody actually know if the Novitec DLC plug-in would prevent the CEL?

we all want the same thing... more sound, more soul, more visceral experience with our cars. I have sent Ferrari North America several emails regarding the following (something like this) .... I understand that Ferrari is concerned with allowing exhaust and tuning to avoid the codes, my thoughts are (like Lambo and Porsche) some allow their service departments to install the mods and not void the warranty. Ferrari should have a special group of techs that are trained to install the mods and therefore they still have full control of the install. I understand that Ferrari is concerned that anyone with a computer is a tuner and do not disagree.... But if this was under the control of ferrari, then they should be comfortable that the mods are done correctly. We should all start to bombard Ferrari Corp in North America with emails and start a petition " we want the ability for the dealers to be able to install mods" maybe there is only a couple of dealerships that provide the service, but at least it can be done. I have a SF90 and want to add an exhaust, but will NOT ... because there is no way I would jeopardize the warranty.

Someone asked why I would consider getting rid of the sf90 and go back to a F8, because the F8 does not have all the technology as the sf90... and I would have a car out of warranty with an F8 (like I did in the past) vs the SF90 (no way in hell I would own a SF90 out of warranty)...

Just curious, have you thought of trading in the sf90 for a revuelto, to get both the sound and the tech?

I thought about it a couple times, but feel the sf90 is the right car for me (outside of the sound).

I would not consider a lambo or any hybrid at this time UNTIL the manufactures figure out a way to make the exotic car world more comfortable with owning an exotic car out of warranty OR make the warranties more affordable (24k for 2 years and 35k for 3 for OEM which almost 3x for a typical exotic) So, as of now, I feel all the Hybrids are a huge financial disaster. I also love the sf90 and so far it has been the right car for me

I agree with your thoughts on exotic hybrids. The cost of a Ferrari warranty for a SF90 or 296 shows you how confident Ferrari is with these cars and how expensive they will be to fix.

I will keep my F8 for now, not sure how much longer but I have ZERO NADA NO interest in a hybrid or electric car like this.

I will spend my fun play toy money elsewhere after my F8.

went for a 2 hour drive down the PCH and back home last night at sunset really hoping something would click with the F8 but sadly im not connecting. Ships out early next week with the 430 Scud coming the following week. Completely different animals. I know I will miss a lot of elements of the F8. Drop top, comfort, tech, incredible power and my spec overall but I think I’m making the right move.

Looking to sell my novitec inconel exhaust and 250 capristo cats if anyone is interested. Pretty much brand new. Will make a good deal to move em.

Ferrari will never in a million years ever approve any sort of remapping no matter who did it, and understandably so.
However the specific CEL clearing OBD dongles like the Novitec Tectronic do not change anything on the maps, so can’t in themselves cause an issue (although I guess could conceal a genuine issue if one arose in the aftermarket exhaust?).

This thread is so depressing. So many guys have tried everything on what is such a beautiful car and because the sound is so bad they are moving out of them. I saw the valvetronic system (which I know is amazing for the 720). Not sure if anyone has tried that, BUT you need a tune. Thats a non starter for almost everyone.

    Sorry dudes

Last resort and a ton of money. Do this full system with a spare ECU

what if anything can we do to get Ferrari to hear us !!!... We want more sound, more soul, .... ( I have been certainly faithful to Ferrari) but most (hmmmm, almost 98%) of my friends in the car world have left the brand and moved on to Lambo, Porsche and Mclaren.

yeah I guess I’m another victim. Tried everything possible but still couldn’t get it there. The novitec setup was meh to me sadly. On a positive note these cars have retained value incredibly well and I got to drive the F8 which is unreal for so many reasons for 7 months basically for free so that’s a win.

    Sorry for your bad experience.....

Good thoughts but Ferrari does NOT care about our F8 cars and that they sound muted and muffled. I bet a few exhaust manufacturers would jump at partnering with Ferrari on this and Ferrari could provide the tune to the Ferrari dealer for the complete install but Ferrari could care less what we think or want….we bought the F8 anyway…lol
