They look great, super clean and great looking materials, heavy weight. Hard to say, cause I don’t have a Scud light to compare too. And I also haven’t had the OEM ones out before for a construction comparison. Packaging was certainly excellent, and will come in handy when I list my good condition OEMs for sale here shortly.
A little harder than I would have imagined to get the gasket tucked in there and all lined up. Image Unavailable, Please Login
bah. i had put my name in on Facebook but completely missed this thread and any notifications that this was running. That's what you get for being away from Fchat for a bit! If anyone gets the F430 Carbon fitment and decides they don't want to go through, let me know and i'll gladly take them off your hands.
Give all the connectors a good tug. My left hand blinker stopped working… Checked it out and both wires just fell right out of their pins.
Yes, they do. They also have an instructional part in the video on their website/youtube. They look great for sure. I haven’t gotten to take them out at night time yet.
They slipped right out, copper totally clean, not sure a single strand left stuck in the original pin. This was on the two pin connector. The pins had been crimped. Based off how short the wires were when I re-pinned to put back together, my guess is they weren’t inserted all the way into the pin when crimped. I had to cut back the tape just to have enough wire length to get them all the way back into the connector. It was an easy fix, but would have been much easier before they were installed lol.
Woohoo! Can’t wait to install them. I’ll be sure to check the wiring first! Image Unavailable, Please Login
All done! The wires on the right headlight turn signal also pulled out with a gentle tug. I crimped new pins on the wires and inserted them into a new connector. I’ll give Matt a heads up. Otherwise, the install was pretty straight forward as in their install video. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well shoot. I was hoping the connector that I had was just going to be a one off. But glad you were able to check and find it beforehand. looks great on your paint!
I didn't install these, but did swap mine. When I did, though there is some adjustment possible in the brackets, the variation is small, so as long as they are installed at the 3 points, they will be close to where they should be. If you want to align them perfectly, this can be done using a combination of the brackets and an adjustment screw as per the WSM. Assuming these align the same way OEM ones do.
This video: Some tips: Have something ready to block/stop the flow of washer fluid as you disconnect the line from the pump. Easier if you have someone to help, or at least something to rest the bumper on, while you deal with it Protect the lens on the new lights as you put them in to prevent scratching. I used blue painter's tape, which seemed to work fine Check the wires on the turn signal plug by giving them a firm tug While installing the headlight, visually inspect the gasket around the light to make sure it's seated correctly, all around the light. Shift the light around as needed to seat the gasket
Order of operations for first time bumper removal: 1. Remove bumper 2. Unplug washer fluid line 3. Panic and struggle to immediately plug washer fluid line back in 4. Go search for paper towels or something to clean up all the fluid on the floor 5. Find something to plug the line 6. Wonder why a car that usually barely gets driven has a 10 gallon washer fluid tank
