Bought my Scuderia two weeks ago and have driven it about 400 miles so far. First week, drove it normally and didn't experience any notable shudder upon takeoff in first.

Issue 1) A week in, I started to get a shudder unless I BARELY throttled on takeoff. I'd have to take off so gently that I would hold up the pace of traffic behind me.

I went to a respected Ferrari shop in the OC area and got some conflicting info. He adjusted the PIS to the point where it was not shuddering much off take off, but the shifting from 2-6 seemed way too fast (DCT like, my other F car is a 458) and I lost the charm of the F1 feel. I told him I didn't mind the shudder as long as it didn't wear the clutch prematurely, and especially if I would have to lose the F1 character, so he claimed the shudder would have ZERO impact on clutch wear and he adjusted the PIS back (I am not sure if he saved the OG value or estimated it) and now the shudder is back.

Issue 2) Yesterday I took a drive to LA (about 60 miles) and was in 6th gear for about 20 miles (holding 70mph steady) before the car went into neutral and I had to shift it back into 6th manually. This happened one time, and did not occur for the rest of the 40 mile trip and then the return 60 miles. As I did a bit of spirited driving, there were a few shifts that were a little off, but I can't describe it. Otherwise, all good.

I am hearing from different shops and techs how the F1 system should NOT shudder, then some say it DOES because it's a Scud, it's raw, etc.

    Objective Facts:

    22% clutch wear via snapshot
ENTIRE F1 Unit replaced in 2021, but only 1K miles ago (car has 13K, F1 unit replaced at 12K). So while it's been four years, it's only been one thousand miles.

I know based on age, the fluid should be changed and I have that planned to do.

I'm going to be honest- I've been chasing down some other little niggling issues (Intermittent emissions CEL) and now this trans/clutch issue is salting the honeymoon period of a dream car that I purchased just 14 days ago, especially as I can't get a consistent answer on the F1 characteristics and how it should/should not be adjusted.

Any thoughts- I hear the dealership just likes to throw parts at cars now rather than diagnose, so I usually use them for routine service/complex issues, but I'll heed any worthy Fchat guidance.

    Thanks all!

Had a great call with Flash. He sent me some diag tools to order and I have them in hand. We are working through this together. What a gem @flash32 is.

I am sincerely grateful to be able to learn to work on my car myself, to know things are done properly and have the ability to make adjustments should they ever need to be done.

Will keep the thread updated as we go.
