I never felt like the Perf was sluggish but didn't think it was fast either. However, for an SUV it was plenty quick.

I don't really understand why people complain about the haptics and tech. I daily my car and almost never need to use the haptic portion of the controls. There is no need to be going through menus for settings one you set them, just don't use carplay in this car. It eliminates the need for using the haptic controls. Are you really going to be changing the color of the dials, audio settings, pair phones, use the car's native NAV when you drive?? I get in, drive, get out without touching the directional haptic. I have to do a lot more finger work in my Tesla and RR. That being said I do have a 25 so I'm not sure how the older steering wheel compares.

In terms of an overall package the fact that qualifying charges the battery so fast is amazing. Bumpy ride mode, magic. Small window that you can retract on the GTS is awesome.

My complaints is that 1. in a 400k+ car the UI still lags a little. If they had a no lag, high def screen / tech 120hz+ man, that would be special. 2. Don't like the wheel gap. 3. Little effort in premium sound system improvement would go a long way.

I daylied a 992 GT3 touring which I upgraded the audio system and exhaust, and for a road car for weekend canyon the 296 GTS is a 10/10 compared to a 6.5/10.

To my read he meant the delayed electronic pedal response. Which is a chronic Audi/VW group issue.

Having watched the entire review, Harry loved the car and he exhibited tons of emotion. Haptics and battery management were his issues. We know, and he acknowledged, the haptics are resolved with the new model year. And owners have commented he got the battery issue out of proportion.
Interestingly he noted the 296 is light years beyond the Artura, and the 296 is much better than the sf90, as we’ll as preferred over the F8.
He bought a Mc 650s which boggles my mind and I have to finally downgrade his reviews and preferences a bit as that car is the epitome of dog (had one).

I’m such a Ferrari boy that I talked myself into placing a deposit on 296 Speciale. I’m never really comfortable in any sports car, it just comes down to how much I like the car.

The ADAS in the EU/GB is an issue. I was over there last week with a BMW rental and it's an absolute PIA to shut off the Speed Alert and the Lane Assist every time you start the car. BMW does have an ICON that allows these two items to turned off but you still have to go through the menu to get there every damn time. BMW has a touch screen so it's way easier than the Ferrari haptics. If I had to buy this car across the pond, this issue may drive me crazy enough to avoid the 296. Thankfully this level of government interference has not reached our shores. We are getting rid of the Start/Stop feature.

That said the car is wonderful to drive. I never use the Electric or Hybrid mode...why would you in a Ferrari. I am in Performance with CT Off most of the time. My car also sits on the charger once I am done with it for the day.

The 296 is a fantastic drive and honestly just have to manage the Haptics / UI and battery maintenance. This is not a collector car.....if you own one drive the crap out of it because it is the best car you own hands down.

The race seats will get you more room, I think.

I remember trying my friend's late teens Ford Raptor finally after about 9 of my friends had them, and being disappointed. Everyone had acted as if it was some Baja race truck and it was merely quick.

Funny - most comfortable Ferrari seat is my Dino. Door opens wide set angle is great lots of headroom and it's the smallest and second is my RSR Porsche also small. I would ask if the VS race seat offers the most room by sitting between the rails vs on top of rails. My understanding is the race seat offers the most room but never confirmed.

Racing seats definitely offer more space, but it’s the difference between miserable and uncomfortable.

Do you guys think with the 2026 296 getting the touch wheel, you will be able to retrofit it in previous 296's? People like the 25 wheel a lot, so this sounds even better

More physical buttons. Same wheel that the 296 speciale/F80 have.

I wrote touch wheel above. I meant to write physical wheel. I would describe the current wheel as a touch wheel even though haptic wheel is probably more accurate.

Perhaps if you daily your car it becomes very familiar. A lot of people don’t for various reasons including having multiple cars. I suspect all the screens and haptics are far more dangerous to driving that simple switches or knobs. This includes basic functions like air conditioning and setting side mirrors etc. Haptics and screens add zero value for these functions and in my mind are dangerous as they require you to look at the screen or the haptic. If you watch the Harry’s Garage video on why he wouldn’t buy the 296 you can see he loves the car and the way it performs but can’t stand all the electronic nonsense which adds zero value and is irritating.

Mine went 10r this time last year and I got the ‘25 wheel. You may be lucky and go one better .
I have no problem with the ‘25 wheel and with car play I use Siri , if you want to use Waze you simply create short cuts in Waze and Siri will use that to navigate
