330 GTC - Hard Fuel Line Routing Path?

it is long ago I was working on a 330 GTC and so can not remember right.
but until now I never have seen on legal street cars that the fuel lines are going through the cabin. so I can not think that this has been so original.

 

No, the fuel line should not go through the cabin. It runs under the car on the driver side all the way to the engine compartment. My car isn’t here right now or I’d send photos. Whatever you do, get it out of the cabin and plug those holes.

 

I have had a 365, rather than 330 GTC, but cannot think that what you have found is correct. The fuel line should be clipped along one of the chassis tubes, passing through holes cut in support gussets as seen in the photo. These cars can be prone to vapour lock especially in very hot conditions and the close proximity of the exhaust doesn't help, but please re-route your fuel to run outside your cabin.

 

There should be three fuel pipes on a 330GTC/S: one 10mm pipe from the rear fuel filter that feeds the inlet of the mechanical pump, then supplying fuel to the small glass bowl filter/regulator to the front of the fuel rail, one 10mm pipe from the outlet of the electric pump that supplies fuel to the rear of the fuel rail, and one 3/16" pipe that returns fuel from the rail to the fuel filler pipe at the rear of the car.

None of these pipes go through the interior of the car. The routing of the pipes is different depending on the chassis number of the car, which corresponds with a change in the fuel system, going from the Fispa electric fuel pump to a Bendix (Facet) electric fuel pump.

What is the chassis number of the car that you are working on, and which type of electric pump does it have (is it the original pump)?

The early cars with the Fispa electric pump have all three pipes (and a fourth brake pipe) going down along the outside of the left frame rail, through holes in the outriggers from the frame rail to the body. The later cars with Bendix fuel pump have the mechanical pump pipe and the brake pipe going down the outside of the left frame rail, and the electric pump pipe and the fuel return pipe going down along the inside of the left frame rail, then to the "X" frame member to the middle of the car, then back along the "X" frame member to the left outside of the car to the electric pump.
