Has anyone purchased one of these Forza exhaust valve controllers for their F8, I had one on my 458 and loved it. Does is work on the new F8 exhaust. Any information would be great thank you

I bought one for my Pista and it works as it should.

Also it does not throw any cell warnings.

May the Horse be with you

Awaiting answers that are specific to the OP’s question ….. use of a Forza Controller on an F8.

Novitec now supplies the Techtronic OBD plugin with the switchtronic to eliminate the CEL issue, but yes it’s needed due to a programming change to the ECU by Ferrari. I do believe the Forza works without a OBD device, but a lot of wiring involved.

BTW, IMHO just adding a valve controller will not improve the exhaust note enough to be worth it. GPFs need to come off the car…

This was going to be my next question. Does it change the sound. When you first start the car up before the valves shut, it sounds ok. I was hoping that sound would carry out through acceleration

It doesn’t change it enough where it’s worth it.

well that’s also on high idle, when the idle drops down to normal…. Not much of a change.

Makes sense, Whats involved with removing the GPF. Can it just be removed and bypassed without changing the exhaust. I want the car to sound better but I don't want it to be obnoxious

GPFs are integrated with the exhaust, removing them usually will involve swapping out the exhaust as well. Simplest way to do it is something like Novitec’s non valved exhaust. I did the Kline system with 200 cell cats. Search the forum and Youtube for sounds clips and see what you like. My system is a good improvement without going into the obnoxious zone. Factory exhaust diagram, and a pic of my Kline system in inconel.

Greg, Dicecal has your correct information you need.

To make a f8 sound good, even a little better takes a lot of money and changes to the car ECU and clogged up exhaust. Biggest thing to know is to do this you will red flag the car with Ferrari (the manufacturer) and void the warranty on anything the cars ECU controls. Is it worth that?

I have it installed on my F8 spider. It does sound better and does not have any CEL issues. It’s not fantastic but it is 40 pct better IMHO. Best , Kirk.

If the bypass valves are simply unplugged, how long before a CEL is illuminated? If it’s 50 or so miles, that might be a solution for me. Modest improvement in sound, no warranty cancellation issues, car remains pure stock, etc. I’ll simple erase the CEL with my Launch X431 each time it’s illuminated.

Hi Cigarzman - do you have a CEL cancel system in conjunction with the valve controller? I'm thinking of installing a valve controller, but not too keen on installing much more due to warranty considerations, response gratefully received

No , nothing other than the controller. It still does not sound great by any means. It did throw a few CELs here and there. Knowing what I know now it was basically a waste of money and wouldn’t do it again.

F8 has back pressure sensors so with the valve controller you'll throw code because the valves are closed under around 3800rpm. Above that there is no use for the controller since the valves open.
There is not much sound difference. Possibly more if you use the controller and the Fabspeed F8 muffler delete but you still have the GPF and 800 cell cars highly muffling the sound.
