Ferrari announced its entry into the world of sailing on Wednesday with a Hypersail project led by Italian yachtsman Giovanni Soldini that it said would blend racing tradition with technological innovation.

The world's first 100-foot monohull ocean racing yacht with a foil on the keel has been designed by French naval architect Guillaume Verdier and is being built at an undisclosed location in Italy with a launch scheduled for 2026.

"It perfectly aligns with Ferrari's tradition, drawing inspiration from our Hypercar, three-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans," Ferrari Chairman John Elkann said.

AUDI interiors are great, exteriors not so much. A W222 Mercedes is much better looking than AUDI 8:: W223 not so much insides or out.
Modern BMW grilles are 3×-4× too big.

Umm, I think Enzo Ferrari was a Sports car guy more so than F1. in the 60's up to 67 ish, He always put more effort into the sports cars than F1. Only after Ford showed that they would out spend him did he turn to F1 as that was the cheaper alternative at the time. It was Fiat that made him choose F1 or Endurance... and they pushed for F1. Fiat gave Enzo a large "stipend" every year for racing and in 76 -77 they finally bought out the factory premises. Un until then, while they owned 50 % of the company - they did not own the land or buildings. That is why you started to see FIAT on the side of the Ferrari in 77. Enzo's own racing career resembles more sports car racing / endurance racing than F1/ Grand Prix at that time. the races he won were all very long and tiring races.

The funny thing about the 962, is that you can drive them like a regular car. I got to drive Rob Dyson's car at Lime Rock in 1987 at his end of year party for his team... he let everyone take the car around the track... mechanics, to housekeepers if they wanted to. I was a cook for him at the time. I was surprised at how easy it was to get going ... just like a road car... at about 45oo rpm, it just delivered a huge wallop of power... I only did that once on the main straight... the brakes on the other hand were rock hard,.... Not sure how one would be on the road.

That kind of racing is gone forever. Sad but true. Even in Kart racing you have Teams that are run like minor racing teams used to be done... spares, tires, etc.. its crazy the cost. I think the biggest issues it there are so many F1 races, its not special any more. its too common.

I've owned and driven some very high-powered turbo beasts in my day and have noticed the same. Stay out of the boost and they are surprisingly controllable in everyday situations. They can bite you, though. From what I've read, the 962s have very forgiving handling, although there was a chance now and then that a wheel may suddenly come off! I thank them for bringing PDK into the world.

What are they up to, at least 22 Grand Prix this year? Not so grand when past the saturation point. Too many greedy corporate interests. I think a max of 18 would suffice.

Bonus suggestions to the powers that be: Bring back Grid Girls. :D Bernie, can you still influence anyone?

I'd say Audi exteriors look very modern....for about 5, maybe 7 yrs. Poorly aged after that for most.

all I remember is that it was a tight fit, and that his son Chris just said stay below 4K RPM.. and you will be fine. they did give me a radio and head set, because you cant hear anything but gear whine ...and the pebbles hitting the tub. I have one picture that If can find I'll post... its really faded .. I cant believe that was over 40 years ago!

Porsche is a very well organized charade. Flog your Ferrari three events a year on the track and when you get tired of it, other than stone chips, no one notices. Drive your Porsche to the shopping center three times a week but look at it cross-eyed and the engine suffers catastrophic bore scoring. Porsche fanatics today are either Turbo owners or devotees of "the emperor's new clothes" syndrome. The Company essentially are a group of thick headed Engineers who strive every day to disprove the laws of physics and design taste while a clever Marketing arm distracts and pickpockets their customer.

Sure as if no other car making concern does that lol. Porsche win on the track. They race far more than most. The 992 series continues to be a proven solid sportscar not known for bore-score issues at all after the 991.2. Did Ferrari and others upgrade their plastic yet lol??? The first post in this thread says it all about Porsche as a competitive entity. They dont need F1 at all.

A remarkable step forward after 10 years of denial.
