I didn't see a thread discussing 430 Scud prices, so figured to start one. With recent headline grabs of 458 Speciale values approaching the $1M mark, what's the consensus on what Scuds will do? It has always been the "quiet" one in between the 458S and 360CS, but I think those who have had the privilege of driving one would qualify it to be the perfect mix between the two other cars. From a quick glance of the market, there's only a few coupes and spiders for sale. Where coupes at this time seem to be around $320K and spiders at $500K. But as they say rising tide lifts all boats, anyone want to speculate where the cars might climb to with the 458S doing what it's doing? I'm guessing $600~$700K isn't too far of a reach?
Here's a couple of outliers: Asking $599K: https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicle/729531075?allListingType=all-cars&city=Torrance&makeCode=FER&modelCode=F430&searchRadius=0&state=CA&trimCode=F430%7CScuderia&zip=90501&clickType=listing Asking $499K (w/ 69 miles): https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicle/748404959?allListingType=all-cars&city=Torrance&makeCode=FER&modelCode=F430&searchRadius=0&state=CA&trimCode=F430%7CScuderia&zip=90501&clickType=listing Rest of the coupes on market are between $300K~$325K. Spiders from $539K~$670K.
I really think they are low priced at the moment still when you consider what a 458 and 360 equivalents do these days and where they came from...
The blue one sat on the market for months unable to sell at $330 from indigo auto group before another dealer bought it and raised the price to $599. It is obvious what’s happening in the collector car market.
It just takes one buyer to cement the new baseline. And in a normal market where there are a few black and red Scuds, I think the the car that does fetch first "higher" price would be a car that has a unique color combo that someone really wants.
I think the 430 Scud market is a minute away from exploding the same way the Speciale market did last year. So few available and the special ones I’ve come across recently all have price tags around 400+ for coups.
I think there are two markets and they are doing different things. 16ms are on the ascent…quickly. I think those will be 1m within a few years. scuds are less rare than other special cars, so I don’t think the ceiling is as high but they will go up over time. I am personally rooting against them appreciating as a 430 scud is the last fcar I truly want.
Think you may have a bit of a biased opinion here and I get it. Not typically the way it works. All spiders appreciate higher than coups especially when there are less of them but the coups always appreciate significantly as well. Speciale coup is a second away from being a $1M car but the apertas are significantly higher. I believe the same will be true for the CS and the scud. Just one big auction gavel away like the speciale last year. Only about 1200 in the world at this point. 500 16M so of course they’ll be higher in value but they are both about to pop.
Is it really only 1200? That would be less than the CS, which is estimated at 1300. When I search online I see varying numbers.
Are we talking about 1200~1500 as estimates for the SCUD coupes? I thought the somehow the SCUD was the least produced coupe in total numbers compared to 360CS and 458 Speciale? Either way you dice it, there's not a lot of these cars for sale out there.
yes agreed. I was under the impression based on everything I’ve seen and every Ferrari person of merit I’ve spoken to that the number was around 2000 or less total including 16M. So roughly 12-1500 coups and 500 16M.
Isn't there only supposed to be 500 16Ms? What was 360 CS production numbers again? I heard Speciale coupes were north of 3000. And actually the SCUD was the most limited in production numbers below the Speciale and 360CS.
This is inaccurate. Ferraris own website states there were only 499 16M produced and I am pretty sure your scud numbers are a bit high as well. Speciale is closer to 2k and more were produced than the Scud. https://www.ferrari.com/en-US/auto/scuderia-spider-16m
Everyone knows Ferraris quoted numbers are inaccurate. This info has been posted already if you do a search here. The VINS for these cars have been counted.
