355 Just acquired my new to me F355 GTS

Yeah it’s probably just that they haven’t tightened the straps to the equal length but they are the same

 

Yes, I also saw an example of a custom harness bar that was made and installed and initially, my plan was to fabricate one like that but when I saw the OEM challenge plates available (I snapped them up as they were the last pair) I preferred that look since it is much cleaner and looks factory. I know they need to be welded in but I’m good with it. that said, if you don’t want to fabricate custom brackets or replicas of the challenge ones (I fabricated a second pair for the passenger seat since there was only one original set available) a custom harness bar is a good option. I’ll post a photo of the one I saw for reference in case it helps. The only thing I noticed is that it sits higher up than the welded brackets so the harness drop will come down to the seat holes as opposed to being more horizontal.

Cool, just make sure they are the Enzo harnesses and not the regular production car versions since those don’t have the metal hooks that go into the eyebolts. They have a different attaching mechanism that goes through the firewall.

 

Also, I took an educated gamble that the eyebolts that come with the Enzo harnesses were the correct size and would fit into the challenge brackets. Thankfully, when I receive them today I verified and they do! It would’ve been an easy fix to just purchase the correct eye bolts elsewhere but again I’m tickled that I can still use the OEM ones

 

I don’t but I will find out. My fabricator is getting them back to me on Monday and he will know.

 

Interesting, I hadn’t seen the modificata mounting style but I knew that it was fixed to the seatbelt points. My plan was to do exactly what you said and make it so that it would slip through the existing opening for a nice look.

once my harnesses are in, I will be removing the standard seat belts since I don’t plan on using them. I know some people choose to have both in vehicles that they add harnesses to. I just plan on keeping them in storage for if I ever need to put them back

 

Definitely. The challenge harness brackets kit that I bought brings the ones for the floor as well but I will store them as I don’t need them. If I ever wanted to in the future, I could put them in and install the full challenge harness
