Hello everyone – welcome to this for sale post for my 2003 360 Spider. I will be putting this up on Bring A Trailer in the near future but thought I would offer it here first. If you are a looking for a really nice, sorted 360 give this a look and maybe save on some auction fees!

    Some quick facts:

Transmission – Factory Gated Six Speed
Color – Giallo Modena exterior/Black leather interior with contrasting yellow stitching
    24,100 miles
    Clean Carfax
Tubi exhaust (still CA Smog compliant)
Extensive maintenance records back to 2013
    Asking $150,000

There is debate of Spider vs. Coupe mostly due to the complexity of the top mechanism. As far as I can tell the top was replaced at some point and has no stains, rips or tears. I spent a good amount of time last year going through it and now have it working like new with no issues. This required new elastics and an alignment, and I also had to have the secondary rams rebuilt. The other ram in the center of the top was rebuilt by Bobileff (have that service record), so those should be good for a long time. I believe if you now just cycle the top regularly, keep it stored in the up/closed position and have the elastics replaced every 5 years or so you shouldn’t have any issues. And there is nothing like hearing this V8 with the top down!

I purchased this car on Bring A Trailer in October 2022 – the listing is here: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2003-ferrari-360-spider-37/

Although the car was being sold in Florida it was brokered through the Bobileff Motorcar Company in San Diego- who are well known here on Ferrari Chat. I found out from Gary Bobileff that this car was owned by a personal friend of his, and they spared no expense in maintaining it, with records going back to 2013. I have all of those records, important highlights of which include:

    • New clutch and throw-out bearing at 19,500 miles
    • Belt service completed in December of 2021 at 21,500 miles
I had the car shipped back to Bobileff and had them do a full annual service, replace the battery, fix the cracks/scratches on the front bumper and drivers-side wheel well and do some die work on the wear areas of the seats. Since picking the car up in November of 2022, in addition to regular quick drives through our local canyons, I have been working to fully sort it. That has included:

    Maintenance Completed During My Ownership:

    November 2022:
    • Full annual fluid service
    • New Interstate Battery
    January 2023:
    • New Michelin PS5 tires installed
    Other 2023:
    • Replaced shifter bushing with new aluminum from Hill Engineering
    • Replaced all three rear wind deflector screens with new (originals had deteriorated but are included if you want to get them refinished)
    January 2024:
    • Full annual fluid service
    • DS and PS fuel pumps replaced with upgraded version
    • Engine and gearbox mounts replaced
    July 2024:
    • New elastic straps and full alignment of the top
    • Secondary hydraulic cylinders replaced, microswitches replaced/aligned
    Other 2024:
    • Replaced drivers side and passengers side door lock mechanisms with new
    January 2025:
    • Full annual fluid service (oil/filter, gear box oil/filter, brake fluid)
    • (2) new air filters
    • New cabin air filter
    • New Interstate Battery
I also spent time doing some custom touches to the car. I did this in a way to be reversible should there ever be a desire to return the car to stock. All original parts are included, including the original Becker Ferrari head unit with the unlock code.

    Stereo:

I wanted to upgrade the system but stay period correct so I sourced McIntosh MX5000 single DIN CD receiver (note this is Japanese unit so FM frequencies don’t work for North America), which is an amazing unit (well known as one of the options on the 05-06 Ford GT, but that was a different model) What I also like about this unit is it has a coaxial digital input, so I found a Bluetooth adapter with coaxial digital output and it works great. The CD player works great on the unit, and I believe you could even connect the CD changer to it with the right adapter (the digital input is Aux B and the CD changer would be Aux A). I didn’t bother because I only really listen to stuff through my phone.

I paired the McIntosh with an amp cradle, sub and upgraded speakers from Mike at Scuderia Audio. I have been so impressed with his stuff, especially the fit and finish. The leather and stitching is a perfect match and they both fit and look completely factory. The door speakers are Audison, which I chose to not have to do any drilling.

Finally, because I am a nerd about these things, I added a McIntosh MX400 output meter in the glove compartment.

Again, all of this is reversible. The factory harness is intact and can easily be swapped for the factory unit, the power meter is on quick disconnects and easily removed, and all of the Scuderia Audio equipment can be removed whenever desired.

    Other upgrades/changes:

    • Replaced the ash tray, mirror switch panel and HVAC control panels – originals were worn/broken
    • Replaced the shift knob with new Hill Engineering (original included)
    • Alloy defrost vents from Rizzo308 (should last the life of the car and keep the dash leather tight)
    • European style airhorn (original comes with the car and can easily be put back)
    • Side skirts, rear bumper and drivers side mirror re-finished to remove deeper scratches
    • New “all-in-one" F430 style key and new red FOB (original key and black FOB included)
    • Replacement alarm siren module (battery was gone in the original)
    • Leather strap replacements in the front trunk from Two Red Birds
    • Sourced an original 360 Spider tool kit (has the manual release tool for the top)
    • No drill Sto n Sho license plate bracket (bolts into existing areas on undertray, easily removed)
    • Intake plenum re-finished
    • Hard-wired for a Valentine 1 radar detector
    • 15 MM spacers front and rear – just installed these...I like the improved stance but haven’t really put any miles on them. Original bolts are included
In addition to the original parts (including tool kit, inflator, factory battery tender and books) I will also include two car covers, an original sales brochure, a Noco trickle charger (already wired), new unused touch-up paint pens and the binder with all of the service records and part purchase receipts.

Happy to answer any questions – if you are in SoCal happy to arrange time for you to see it in person. Sorry these pictures aren’t great – I will get some better ones this weekend in addition to some walk-around videos.

    Thanks!

Don't give it away, it's a gated 360. It's collectability will rise. F! and paddle shifts are great, but nothing compares to shifting a real Ferrari. GLWS

Yeah - definitely won’t. I would prefer to keep it as I believe factory gated cars will be $200k in the near future. That is why I put so much into fully sorting all the little things with this one.

    $140,000

Again this car should need nothing for the next year and probably nothing more than an oil change for the next couple. No stickies, everything works as factory, clean Carfax. I will cover fees to process the transaction through Keysavvy for piece of mind on both sides. Feel free to reach out with any questions and thanks for looking! Here is the window sticker, a pic from the Helms Bakery C&C last weekend and some videos of the cold start, top operation and stereo.

If you are in the market for a GATED Modena, my opinion would be to jump on a worthy example and do your homework as soon as the car comes on the market. These cars will be looked at, in years to come, as the "ones to buy back then". They're sexy as hell, tons of power, analog but don't feel outdated, and nothing beats a coupe. Do your due diligence. Have a PPI. Make a smart purchase on the right car. The Modena's are the "right" F car. Just my opinion.
