Is the Pitt movie generating any interest in the movie going public?

My FB Ferrari and Haas pages are zooming with pictures from the F1 premiere in NY. All the JetSet is gathered from what
I can see. Normally, I'm not so hyped about these movies (e.g. Ford vs Ferrari), but my wife wants to watch it as soon as is out.
I'm sure Brad Pitt has something to it, but having heard comments from Alonso and others make me curious.

For plenty of articles quotes, reviews, videos of last night's world premiere on Broadway with a full grid of F1 cars in front of the theatre.

I will go sit front row center next Wednesday 25/6 when it comes out here. In the US it opens on the 27th.

The one comment that I kept is that prior to the start of any race, Alonso mentioned that the part that was captured
really well in the film is the moment when all the celebrities and mechanics leave the grid and it is just the driver
with the engine revving on, everything goes quiet (relatively) and he waits for the lights to go off. Another comment
that I remember is that the meetings that they do in between sessions and quali are pretty close to what they are about.

    Javier Bardem got really P&R:

    1) The broach he was wearing on his lapel.
    2) He told one reporter about what was really going on in a certain part of the world and got really P&R.

    Clueless these Hollywood celebs....

Seeing it Thursday evening here, can't wait. Of course the story, the plot will be Hollywood nonsense but the track action will be filmed like never before, with the amazing total access the film crew had during race weekends, that will be awesome. Will sit front row centre like always to get the full effect :D.

After the world premiere in NYC with F1 cars on Broadway last Monday they are having the European premiere in London tonight with surprise guest Tom Cruise joining Brad Pitt, Sir Loulou and all on the red carpet, a nice touch.

One of my favorite racing movies. Of course the cars are photographed in the studio in front of a moving background, and Douglas plays an Italian driver with no hint of an accent, but the coverage of the Monaco (sports car) GP and the Mille Miglia make it a worthwhile flick. Lee J. Cobb's character reminded me of Alfred Neubauer.

The F1 movie was good. The local Ferrari Club Chapter had a early private screening. Leave your expert knowledge on racing at the door and enjoy the movie as a Hollywood take on racing, it was great.

Just got back from an early screening with the local Ferrari club. This is a great fun movie, and they address the age issue right up front. Beautifully shot, you can really see the time and money put in this production on the screen.

Better than I thought it was going to be - I think it will date badly however - the lead lady is very good - well written & played: credible - unlike Pitt's team-mate - we mustn't forget this is a close relative of TG Maverick - maybe it was the 'print' I saw but the CGI did not hold up too well against white overalls and there seemed to be a few little continuity errors

How can anyone really talk about this movie as anything but Hollywood crap? The story is a total cliche. Brad Pitt's character couldn't get hired by Haas or Sauber or Alpine. He couldn't even get Stroll's seat for FP1. The movie is a farce. But it reveals the inner workings of Hamilton's lust for the limelight. He dresses hip hop and hangs out with Hollywood.

Let us know what you thought about it if you went. Was TG Maverick worth seeing? Geez I haven't seen a non-kids movie in a theater since Die Another Day, the last Bond movie with Pierce Brosnan in it!

Yeah - it was a throwback to the first one, kind of cheesy, but you have to see it if you were a TopGun fan back in the day. I was 13 when the first one came out - thought Tom Cruise was a stud.

Over the years I’ve seen TopGun maybe 20-30 times when it was aired on TV and nothing else was on - TG Maverick I saw once in the theatre - I’m good - lol.

I didn’t get to the F1 movie last night.

Apparently Sir LuLu was Pitt's central figure behind the scenes, so that doesn't inspire confidence....

I'll eventually catch in online for free. That's good enough...I'm sure....and no $9 popcorn....

I'm trying to remember if I've bothered going to a theater after Spectre...... Saw Rush (F1) and Skyfall before that, but haven't been to the theater much.

Haven't been tempted often, and besides, my theater is always available and has an open bar.

This film exceeded my expectations and is a lot of fun. In regards to racing films I would say it falls like this.
    1. Grand Prix
    2. LeMans
    3. F1
    4. Ford v Ferrari

It was great fun to watch. I bought 16 tickets for my family, friends and my mum. Everyone loved it. Go and enjoy it for a fun movie to introduce the masses to F1, When Will Buxton was on, my daughter and I laughed loud in the theatre, Connor Moore does him so well! And we shouted out “Lights out and away we go!” for each race start. Have fun friends!

Just saw it with my son. It’s Hollywood entertainment and it is entertaining. Suspend some belief if you’re a hardcore F1 fan. We enjoyed it. The action shots are great, and it was cool how they wove the real teams in as well.

I don’t get all the Hamilton comments here. Yeah he’s a producer, but barely had any screen time in the movie.
