I got a check engine light. After hooking my scanner up to it it came up with a P0327. Has anybody ever had a knock sensor go out on their car?

Did you search on the 360/430 forum for this? I get 6 pages of hits.

    RH bank knock sensor #1 (I assume cylinders 1 & 2?)

    Low Input (min)

    1 Check the wiring
    (diagrams available if required)

    2 Check sensor mounting
    (i.e. tighten the bolt)

Sounds like a pain to change/check.

There are four knock sensors and they are very hard to change. You basically remove everything over the engine all the way down to the V. The heat exchanger and the water pump pipes are in the way of one of the sensors so they also have to be removed.

the whole story is as follows, a month ago, I had the Timing belt break on my car. Trashed the driver side head. I got the new head installed and the thing runs great now. I drove it three or four times for short distances with no issues. Last weekend I drove it to a car show about 45 miles away. on the way back halfway home, the check engine light came on. I hooked up the OBD this code came up. I figured it might be a fluke so I deleted all codes. Yesterday I drove to a car and coffee with no issues, but halfway home the light came on again. OBD read the same code. Just to confirm, I deleted the code and took it to lunch. Halfway home, the light came on again. Obviously it’s repeatable. Either the car knows my wife the same way I do and doesn’t wanna go home or there’s something wrong with the knock sensor or the wiring. The car runs spectacular with no noises or anything. Thoughts?

I just can’t figure out why the code is only thrown after I’ve run it for a while and then turned it off and then run it for a short while again. Any thoughts?

I once had a turn signal issue where after the engine was warm, the indicators would hyperflash. The ground was above the LH radiator. The ground was slightly loose. Maybe if you can get a spanner on it or reset the plug without pulling the car to pieces?

Sounds logical, does anybody know where the ground/grounds that correlates is?

When weird things happen after major surgery, you can bet the surgery has something to do with it.

What did they disconnect when the head was changed?

That's the question you should be asking.

Same thing happens on the F355 (5.2)... There are two identical plugs next to each other. However, if I recall correctly, the engine doesn't run.

For future reference, the 360 knock sensor doesn't seem to have a ground. Both wires go to the ECU.
