An excellent point. But someday being able to drive a vintage car may be outlawed or severely restricted in use. And I believe vintage cars will still be collected.

Thank you! And yet, after very, very briefly looking at photos, there are faults in this car. Reparable, but ought not to be there for that price. Small niggly stuff, yet there. Regards, Alberto
PS. I am certain, that if there had been a BaT style photo dossier (300+), there might be more more faults. The only deduction(s) question(s) I can draw: Who restored it, was the owner involved, what is the expected return, so many unknowns that at the end affect dearly the 'real value' of a Dino. Compression, leak down, paint thickness, etc.? Drive it? I mean, if you buy a Dino, you really have to be exceedingly in depth with it. Then you can drive the hell out of it. Regards, Alberto
That’s more or less my point. Ive had an immaculate Testarossa that I enjoyed, a 360 that I raced and my son enjoyed in many track days until he blew the engine, many aircooled 911s with my Ferraris bought within the 60/120k price range and the 911s from 35k to 60k. Yes, that was in a timeframe of ten years ago, but all these were 100% correct cars, really solid and drove as if they were brand new. Giving half a million for a Dino, that back in my day was not even considered a real Ferrari, is something I can not justify to myself. Unless it is the best there is and still I would have second thoughts about it. That is why I said that this train has departed. Beautiful car, full of character, enjoyable on back roads, but hey, with that much, there are thousands of options out there that can make me happier.
I would love to own a GTC/4, seen them rise in price, since my early Dino days (now these have grown 20 +/- fold in some cases) that you may get one for 100K +/-, now twice as much?
I would agree.....except we know how the market treats 4 seat Ferraris The BB has a mid engine V-12, great styling, 2 seats, and those wonderful clamshell hoods front and rear.....deserves the "most undervalued" tag
Agreed on both the 365GTC/4 and Boxer.....I can't jump in as I only have one buy opportunity left before retirement and I want to try something newer for a change.
I think they are great cars, always brought up as the best sounding along with the 355, but for a long time it was just a $30k "clown lips" that people could barely give away. Considering it has gone up more than 5x in 20 years shows some "appreciation" of value.
Okay understood BUT only buy the black body to match the rubber (or paint same as body) and perhaps you've never seen the C/4 Spyders???? Take a peek a boo.
This thread seems to have drifted into thoughts on the comparative values of 355s, clown lips cars (365GTC4s), and Porsches. Might as well start talking about that Dodge Charger R/T 440 your dad owned in 1971 that he sold in 1976 for $1500.
My dad did, for $2K Evidently, no one has much to say today on Dino, please do, if you have something of worth. Then we'd all be on track again. I have nothing....
Ok on Dino values...my two bits. I bought my fairly recently as a un-matching restored M series and EU spec (with some US add-ons) and paid ~$350K. I wanted a sorted driver wheerby i will sort thru the US add-ons and maybe color. I not going to flip nor expect a profit other than via my soul and the mountain terrain in my backyard. But as a design enthusiast i sought out this car and can easily see why others do. But geez these are fairly old "used" cars so get a PPI if spending this much and more. I do see a divergence in buyers and thus a restomod market emerging too. Cheers.
Craig, absolutely passionate about them. We are incredibly involved with the Dino scene. Congrats on your brilliantly ppied. Dino. Learn how to work on it. Simple. Ask here. Dinoland is great.
