#46 finished 2nd in class, 17th overall. That year, finishing was a victory by itself - 2/3 of the cars didn't manage the full 24 hours. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1972_24_Hours_of_Le_Mans
A TO guy doesn't know Yonge Steeles Motors (YSM) in Willowdale? Home of the Euro Spec pre-smog Dino models in the early 70’s including a red 1970 Dino displayed at the Sportsman show in Toronto that year. Maybe I should have said "Canarauto" the name Bill Popovich used to import cars into Canada. Of course that doesn't probably include the occasional Ferrari that Luigi got into Monreal on a side deal with Enzo... He showed a Fly Yellow 1971 Daytona Spyder at the Montreal auto show that year which disappeared again after that show...
LOL - of course I remember Yonge Steeles Motors and the Popoviches! I just never referred to it by its initials. This car was originally sold by Clarke Simpkins Ltd in Vancouver.
I got the idea about YSM from Bill Popovich. He had the YSM for his license plate. The magazine is issue #43. I showed that issue to Bill's wife and her first comment was "I remember that suit he was wearing". Image Unavailable, Please Login
