Hello: can someone chime in and let me know which cable is what out of the 3 ea cables that goes to the plug? Reason I ask is because my plug got damaged. I bought a replacement but the replacement colors are not the same as the OEM harness. Also, when the oem plug “desintegrated”, I have no way of knowing which cablke is which…. Please HELP!!

See photo. Need to know what is the car color cable that would connect to the plug. I numbered 1,2 and 3 for easy reference.

    Thanks

I think the diagram graphic shows the harness connector (not the alternator plug) looking at the face of the plug, but don't quote me on that. (EDIT... now I'm worried.... I've labelled the graphic "Pins", not sockets

    Anyway...
Yellow/Green... goes to dash warning light
Green/white... should have power on it with key on (but the green/white one may also have power on it from the other side of the warning lamp).
Red (pin at right angles to the other two)... battery voltage

I thought there were markings on these plugs anyway?

You may be able to do a continuity check from the next connector along.

Usually the alternator plug is marked. In your photo I see "S" (sense) for the red wire.
