It's not unfair. Not like Alonso has brought home a championship anytime recently, his toxicity is legendary, and he is in the twilight of his career. Stroller has had plenty of time to show what he can do and he's consistently awful. ANY other team and he would've been broomed long ago.

    Alonso P7 and Stroll P14.

Both drivers are tied at 14pts a piece.

... and that's it for all who were praising Stroll for leading over Alonso; as expected by any averagely clever observer, this situation could not last and probably Alonso will have more points than Stroll at the end of the season.

Yep, Strolls lack of intensity-fortitude-drive-expectations are letting Alonso creep up in points, tie him in points and eventually pass him in the seasonal points standings.

Did the Stroller race today? I didn't notice. Sorry, but he's abismal, boring to talk to and a boring racer as well. You cannot say that
from Lattiffi or Maldonado ever, so I prefer the other crashers to be honest. Bring a Safety Car at least!

    That's cute.

Alonso and Lance were on different tire strategies. Alonso's worked, Lance's didn't.

Don't HIS engineers and team tell him what to do? He has free rein on the matter?
I can just see him choose tyres for his bicycle.
    Amazing.

Tire strategy was probably discussed with both drivers and both engineers around the same table at the same time.

He might've IF he understands how the car works beyond accelerator and brake pedals, with a dose of race craft strategy sprinkled in for good measure. Let's go easy on him - he's only been puttering around in a F1 car for 7 years. Let's give him some more time to get acclimated - he's on the cusp of turning it all around. Any day now......

That's your opinion of Stroll, fair enough.
But would you be as critical with drivers who have been in F1 for longer, and have even less to show for it ?
Lance Stroll: 180 GPs, 1 Pole, 3 podiums.
Nico Hulkenberg 255 GPs, 1 Pole, no podium ... for example.

    Fact is, teams want Hulkenberg.

    Other teams don't want Stroll.

In equal cars Hulkenberg would mop the floor with Stroll. Nico has racecraft and tenacity. Stroll has his father's wealth, aside from that he has jack sh*t.

True, and I don't understand it; it's completely illogical.
I would rather take a gamble with a F2 graduate than recruit someone who has been a back marker for 10 years.
Maybe Hulkenberg brings with him sponsors' money ?

Remember when Nico Hulkenberg stepped in for Vettel on very short notice in 2022 and proceeded to out-qualify Stroll with very little seat time in the first race, and then beat Stroll in the grand prix in the second race?

Ufff and Maldonado got a win. If we follow the logic, he's better than half the grid with no single race
    win, let alone podiums.

Stroller has the combination of poor results and an unlikeable personality. No one else is tripping over themselves to sign him. No one wants to interview him. The other drivers don’t seem to respect him. Let’s just be real - if he didn’t have daddy’s toys to play with he wouldn’t have a seat.

That may well be true, but just compare the following stats:

    Lance Stroll
    : 176 GP starts, 306 points — average per GP: 1.74 points

    Nico Hulkenberg
    : 238 GP starts, 593 points — average per GP: 2.49 points

    Makes you think, doesn't it?

And the other team principals have no interest in him. Other drivers respect Hulkenberg, he races hard but fair. Lance is a loose cannon, competent to drive but not to race.
