Isn't the ERay eligible for the Z07 wing in 2026? If so, that will gum the works further.

I don’t understand the point of this car….AND the ZR1. The biggest issue (to me) with all the C8 line is that there is very slight visual distinction between them. Yes, if you are familiar with Vettes, you know how to tell a base Stingray from a Z06 from an E-Ray from a ZR1. But the actual differences are so slight that the sight of ANY of these cars is simply uneventful. I see C8 Corvettes here in the metro Detroit area DAILY. All of the varieties! I literally saw 3 ZR1s on the same Saturday a week or so ago. The Corvette is a magnificent car ESPECIALLY for the price. But they are hardly an event anymore. If they ever really have been.

So the ZR1X coming out so soon after the ZR1 IS PUZZLING!

If I had MY way (LOL) would have clad the ZR1X totally different bodywork. Sleeker and swoopier without all the folds and fins and “nonsense” that plagues the C8 line (in my opinion).

A design that is distinct from the rest of the line and I would have called it Zora so it stands apart from the others and doesn’t diminish the existence of the “plain” ZR1.

    I’m I crazy?

agree they all look alike but so do 911. a half million dollar st is same as 150k 911t and it works for them so corvette probably trying to copy winning formula.

but if was up to me i would have put active aero on zr1 variants. make the ztk version with a drs swan neck spoiler like gt3rs and the regular version with a mobile wing/air brake like 750s has.

No. Not really. I’d argue that the full bore 911 GT3RS or TURBO S looks far more special and distinctive than a base 911. As they should.
And as a Corvette fan, I do love what the ZR1X means to the automotive community. But I just think this particular car could have taken another substantial leap if it had styling and bodywork all its own.

I think the external differences between 911 base and turbo s are actually quite comparable to the differences between C8 base and Z06. You have a wider body, aero tweaks, different side air intakes, and a different spoiler. Internally, the Z06 gets a *much* more special engine.

Ditto for the GT3 RS. You have the hood opening for giant radiator and aerodynamics, bigger air intakes, and a massive rear wing in the ZTK package. Non-ZTK package is basically their version of a GT3 touring with the wing delete.

And only enthusiasts can tell the variants apart (except for massive wing models probably).

IMHO, the external differences between the C8 models are almost exactly the same as the differences between the 911 models.

I didn’t say it was pointless altogether. I said it was pointless alongside the ZR1 (introduced mere weeks prior) in that it made the ZR1 a non entity. If the ZR1X is truly “the Zora”…then the Zora (IMO) should have looked different. Cleaner, sleeker bodywork to set it apart from the rest of the Vette line. This way the ZR1 remains the top dog Vette and the Zora stands on its own as a competitor to other hypercars.

And to me, the Porsche 911 will always draw more “attention” than a Vette. C8 Corvettes are more “common” than my latest gen Mustang GT! At least in my area.

Want to make a 911 (except a GT3/RS and only because of the wing) disappear? Park a C8 (ANY variant) beside it.

The haters already whine about the price. If they used a different body style ir would probably not be the bargain that it is now.

I’m not the car designer I wish I was. But I just wanted the Zora (if the ZR1X is the Zora) to have a sleeker, cleaner look. Still Corvette, but less fussy….

  13. That looks like an Artura, and not in a good way.
