TopGear review claimed a senior Ferrari engineer said this steering wheel would be backwards compatible! PLEASE take my $15K, Ferrari. I need this on my Purosangue yesterday.
Bro even worse... I have the CF steering wheel with the bronze threaded CF Might cost me $100K for this steering wheel now that I think about it

It's not so much the replacement cost but rather the availability. Supply will be focused on new OEM vehicles rather than the replacement market. Obviously, the higher tier customer you are will help. But for many it will be years before they will see a replacement wheel on their car.
All new Ferraris (296 GTS, Purosangue, Roma Spider, and all future Ferrari models) that are accepted for production on or after 7/3/26 will have the new steering wheel with buttons. Although I am not 100% sure if that includes the engine start/stop button on the 296 GTS, Roma Spider, Purosangue, and even the F80, as that was shown with the new steering wheel buttons, but the engine start/stop was still a touchscreen.
