Just saw the presentation of the new Amalfi.
While I love being back to real buttons (start/stop in particular) and the central screen, I find the exterior to be (still stunning but) a “heavier” and less svelte version of the Roma, with some electric-car-ish hints in the front and back lights. Less sculpted, less curvy but more “flat” and “standard” in the design, it looks like a less radical version on looks to be simply easier to digest (no front grill anymore, eg).
However I guess the Roma especially in Spider guise will keep the “one-of-the-most-beautiful” Ferraris title for a long time, at least compared to this “Roma M”….

I think its hard to say with conviction that I hate it until see it in person but based on my just watching a bunch of YouTube videos I am not a fan of the design..at all.

yes I wish to god I had that steering wheel and interior but I wouldn't trade my Roma in for that exterior..first thing you see is the exterior..its like the BMW 4 series..I can't even get in one with those buck teeth

Whilst I do really like the interior layout and physical buttons, the exterior isn’t as beautiful as the Roma IMO. My Roma and wallet are safe :)

And... I understand they wanna give Roma a modern/EV touch upon OG classical flavor. But the result is just too generic. Stil have to see the car in person though.

Apparently you (aka the dealer) can retrofit the new button wheel and replace the old haptic in the Roma. No idea what they would charge. There has to be a software change.

    Roma, easily.

rear lights are overdone on the Amafail. Smooth hood is devoid of any character. Front strip ala failed 12C experiment yields forgettable design.
Like the wheel both inside and out.

    depreciation trend continues.

The biggest sin of the car is that it's boring. The Purosange (or however Ugly Horse is spelled in Italian) itself was a boring basic design derivative of everything else from Japan and China. Doing a cut-and-paste of that nose on a melted Roma doesn't do much to advance the style of the V8 car.

Don't get me wrong -- the Amalfi is OK. It's a pretty enough design but I don't see it evoking passion and papering teenager walls.

If I owned a Roma I'd look at grabbing a set of Amalfi wheels and the the retrofit steering wheel and keep my ride. The cost of those upgrades will be WAY less than the depreciation on the sequel.

It’s almost as if they should have updated the Roma coupe to an “M”, and just waited on the Spider to name it Amalfi.

the sharp undercut on the front and the back lights are gone, which makes a huge difference to my eyes. the Roma is such a beautiful car in comparison. I know I am in the minority, but I like the start button in the middle lighting up and touching it twice. much better than the physical start button for me but you guys got your way.

My only qualm is the hood shoulders aren’t nearly as muscular as Roma.

Amalfi literally looks like a chinese knock-off of the Roma. What is going on at Ferrari design? Damn.

Right. That's exactly it. If you told me this was a Chinese EV car named Fejali I'd believe it.

All it needed was 1. a grille like this Capristo, 2. two side vents on the fenders (ala 550/575) and 3. a pronounced ducktail spoiler on the tail (like Pista or SF90 AF big).

Most of the times restylings look worse than the original because it means meddling with a design that, if done properly, already was coherent. Yet, I like some things better, like the interior or the intersection between the A pillar and the hood, that in the Roma from some angles looks disjointed.

I have to say, I do like the direction of Ferrari’s design overall, but I just can’t get behind the Roma. My dealer has been pushing hard for me to order one, but it’s not for me. The convertible doesn’t help either. The dimensions never worked.

Even with the styling updates, it’s starting to look too much like the last-gen Aston Martin Vantage.

Ferrari really went backwards with the soft top, smaller dimensions and the lack of trunk space. For a car marketed as a GT at this price point, it just misses the mark in too many ways. The engine hasn't evolved either. They should drop the V6 into this car. I suspect the electric battery nonsense does not fit.
