Seconded. Saw it in the shop where BrianB works, they had a number of cars there from the NV collection in question.
The late Greg Garrison sold it to Bob Lee of Sparks, Nevada, back in 2004. Greg got it from Peter Sachs in the '80s who got it from Don Dethlefsen in '78.
And Chris Cord used to sneak it out of the family garage and terrorize Mulholland with way, way back. Jeff

RM Sotheby's a week ago tried to sell two Daytonas from the Robert Lee collection (don't know the results). Several more cars will be put up for Monterey auction including Duesenberg J Walker-LaGrande and MB 500K Special Roadster.

As a former PF historical consultant i could tell stories about this car, whose restoration began in a way and finished in another, and about the obscure characters behind its management......
I see they added A-pillars at ends of the windshield to support what I thought was originally pillarless, cantilever roof design. I wonder how many broken windshields it took to reach that decision and when was this modification first implemented ?
