After I have forwarded the whole story, Paypal just informed me, that [email protected] is under their investigation.
This is his Paypal avatar. Paypal doesn't seem to be interested in the fact, that he uses "Funds for Friends" for his criminal activities. Image Unavailable, Please Login
FYI I inquired once more. Paypal blocked [email protected] I just did a test trying to send him 1.00$ If someone tries to send him money a warning pops up saying "This member currently can't receive any payments".
I am looking to sell my 1986 328 GTS and wanted to find out if the Alex Manos website was a scam, website says Vintage European car buyer but just want to be sure. Thanks

this isn't a FerrariChat scam, but I've fallen for a Facebook scam two years in a row! I'm on what I think are private group pages as alumni for High School and College swim teams. Someone posts a buy swag link with legit looking products correct logo etc. You pay, you never get anything. These are all scams, make sure to look up the posters profile. The scammers will be newer account without many friends plus no connections to your actual page. What tricked me is the logos were real, maybe they get the logos off a real site and then create a fake store.
I just watched “The Beekeeper” last night. Wish there was a real division that would go after these people.
Good morning everyone. I've been a member for a bit and really enjoyed following the forums and watching the markets for different models and soaking up all of the information that this knowledgeable community has to offer. I'm interested in one of the vehicles being advertised and I tried to message the Seller through the "Message Seller" tab on the ad and while it says "Success" I don't receive any email notifications that it was sent (which i believe i have my account set up to do) and I haven't received any reply at all. Any suggestions here on how i can make contact; I'm sure it's user error! And also after reading this thread on scams I'm super concerned about even moving forward at all!
was this through our new Classifieds "Buy" above or our old forum based Classifieds? Post the link to ad.
You had zero post count, so your account wasn't fully approved. Your post above should have fixed this. Try again.
OK thanks. I seem to have received some trophies for making my first post! I'll give it another a shot now. Appreciate Rob contacting and assisting me offline as well.
Beware of user: “Carlstevs”, he sent me a PM of a guy that was pushing for a bank wire or send money through PayPal friends and family. Would not invoice through PayPal where both parties are protected. After I called him out on it being a scam, he stated they would just ship me the goods and I can pay afterwards. They just needed the shipping fee paid first lol. The two email that were used were: [email protected] and [email protected]
This is a reminder that any request by a person unknown to you, even if a Fchat user, asking for payment by Paypal F&F (Friends and Family) is a tipoff that a scam may be in progress. There is no recourse or protection offered by Paypal if you use F&F. We had an incident yesterday where a user's account here (and at another website) was compromised by a scammer. The scammer used the account to send a PM directly to another user offering an item for sale, asking for payment by Paypal F&F. The hijacked account user reported his account had been hijacked today, but it was too late. The buying user had already sent money and the money is now gone with no recourse other than reporting the receiving email address to Paypal. This is also a reminder that users need to be aware of their personal account security practices. If you reuse account names and passwords between sites and services, there is a chance that a compromised account at one site, can be used to access all similar accounts. Be mindful that minimalist account security practices harm others, not just your own account usage. The scammer relies on the longevity of the hijacked account to create a sense of security to facilitate their scam.
@Stablef430 tried to scam me. Can provide proof if needed. Messaged me trying to sell F430 Carbon Fiber Air Boxes, changed his location from Atlanta to Miami as I live in ATL… provided pictures of a S-Forza Carbon Fiber Boxes that is currently being sold in Toronto, ON.
Here's a new one (at least to me). A scammer created an account today that spoofed the advertiser on this ad thread and tried to scam a prospective buyer directly on the ad. (Scam post deleted) https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/borla-exhaust-for-308.707734/ The legit user is Blackfin, the spoofed user is BIackfin. Does anyone see the difference? https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/members/blackfin.165166/ https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/members/biackfin.301945/ Be careful out there.
GrigioArgento had a 330 glove box book sleeve for sale (pouch) - my good friend Alberto bought it immediately, so i said, if this falls thru, I'll take it. I got an email from this John Gardelli and he said the deal fell thru, so if i wanted it, it's mine. I know alberto well enough, once he says I'll take it, done deal! I checked with GrigioArgento and he said sold to Alberto - so this guy is trying to scam me out of $$ for the same product . Be aware...................
Just to clarify, there doesn't seem to be any fault attributed to GrigioArgento and someone using the name "John Gardelli" contacted you outside of Fchat via direct email. As mentioned many times on this thread, a direct email is often a tipoff that a scammer harvested your email through your posts and is trying to scam you outside of the Fchat messaging system. Their names and emails are often not real and are thrown away once burned. If you like, you can DM me the email address that was used and I can scan our userbase for it, in case he's using a registered account to do so. But it's not actually necessary for the scammer to be registered to operate the scam and they have many more names and emails to use if one is burned.
Not sure if your spelling of "John Gardelli" was a misspelling or a variant username. But, another user reported "John Gaudelli" and he was found as a registered account: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/members/johngaudelli55.301722/ Posting from Nigeria. Now banned.
