With the introduction of the Amalfi, one of the most excited responses about the new model has been the steering wheel with switches replacing the haptics. That says something about the Amalfi design, but that's for other threads.

Further, it appears that Ferrari is preparing to offer a post-sale update kit to the steering wheel (replacing only the center subassembly) for other models, such as the 296. The original Mk I wheel (with the flat touchpad as first appeared in the SF90s, Roma Coupe, and early 296s) might have been worse, but I personally don't feel the Mk II haptic wheel (with the contoured touchpad in later 296s, Roma Spider, 12 Cilindri, Purosangue) is that bad or distracting, but apparently there are some strong feelings out there. I'm curious how pervasive this sentiment is and how much owners would be willing to pay to update to a steering wheel with switches.

The poll accepts two responses as it's a two part question, so please only click at most one response to each subsection.

the question is it going to be essential for resale that older cars have the upgraded steering wheel? - at 5-10k fitted they'll do tons of these

Yin, really I only had issues on the mirror flat, but that stayed the same. I guess the infotainment ui can be annoying, but I hardly use gps on my jaunts.

I also didn't mind it once I figured out that my Mk II requires a center tap on the touchpad to "wake it up".

Given that there's only 4 votes so far with over 200 thread views, maybe there's less interest in this topic than the number of complaints and reviews being posted would suggest? Most people are OK, but those who aren't are really vocal?
