As the title says, Im looking to go a little louder on my 458 and Im wondering if I can get racing cats (200 cell) and shoot flames, or if I need to go full decats for that.

    Thanks.

On a NA car...just shows it is not properly tuned for most power and reliability. Do an exhaust that properly scavenges and a tune that burns the fuel the best. Any decal theatrics I could care less about. Dumping extra fuel and adjusting timing to get flames and the popcorn machine is not optimal to the valve train.

Rather than ruining a Ferrari to satiate your tasteless desire, perhaps you should instead get one of these:

HAVING a Ferrari is satiating my tasteless desires. Its mine and Ill do things as I see fit. If you think asking a simple question to help me make a decision is tasteless, well... wait till you see what I do to the side skirts!

Its not required but Ive had cars that do that before and honestly driving around at night and seeing the trees light up behind you is just the chefs kiss. And...And my car is a 2010 so the stock tune pops and crackles like a mofo as is.

Back to the point. We have one vote for decats to shoot flames. Anyone with racing cats care to chime in?

If you want flames and a popcorn machine then no cats straight pipes to the rear with a tune to dump fuel and retard timing among a few other tuner tricks will get you that. I'd suggest you make the car look the part too and slam it on some Novitec springs, Anrky 21/22 dubs...hell go for the full Mansory carbon kit too. How about putting it on some bags like my friend @Eric C did with a custom pumping stereo. We talkin' now!!!!??? ;)

I second this. It’s your car and you can do whatever the f*ck you want with it.

    ^Yes! That.

Ive got a novitec exhaust on there now. It sounds better than stock but it doesnt feel any louder. Thus my current dilemma. Im honestly just hoping to get some more sound without having to get full headers. If I can get some fire then yay!

De-cat and straight pipes and tune to your likes and your golden. I have not owned a 458...plenty of friends have and my understanding is they do not shoot flames as good as a Lambo Aventador or McLaren. Not sure why but that is what I am told. As you can see Gintani can get some flames. I am not sure who does there tuning or if they tune in house but they are really well known and liked for outrageous type of exhausts and tunes. Hope you get what YOU like....just do your due diligence on who the tuner is so that you do not cause damage to your engine. With the popular well known highly regarded tuners you will be fine as it seems.

I hate my tune. I really want to send it off for another one but dont want to drop another 4500. I asked for burbles but got backfires with tourettes.

It's an enrichment tune, basically it dumps more fuel than needed. It will destroy cats though.

Don't these cars that shoot flames end up on the latest You Tube showing how their car burns to the ground ?

I love it when their car is on fire they drive and faster believing that the rush of air will put it out. :)
