For Sale X-pipe for 550 Maranello

I wonder if these were an improvement then why didnt Ferrari do it from the start.
Surely they would have known about this (being used on cross plane V8's)

 

The answer to your question is regulations.

 

This is correct. Late 90s noise regulations were quite strict hence the muted cars of the era. It was only with laxing of the rules and use of valved exhausts Ferrari and others were able to get around it come mid 2000s.

 

Any chance this would fit a 1995 456 ? based on the picture I am guessing not..

Can you confirm size and connections to be same as the 575 factory resonator mid-pipe? Will it install with the same clamps and without modification?

 

550 and 575 mid-pipes are different. The only common/interchangeable parts of the exhausts are the mufflers.

I've run across an older thread about a full cat back Supersprint exhaust with their H pipe and there's even a video link! . This is one of the exhaust sounds I like and can identify the parts for (though I'd have Tubis, not SS cans). Let's see if I end up with this set up.
