Good question. I hope I never have the need to use this information.

 

Damn, you're thinking postmortem--ouch.

 

My first thought on reading this is that if you are in an accident that is bad enough for someone to need your advance care directives the glove box won’t be able to be opened.

 

I have had to tow an exotic a few times. I've shipped cars as well but I am assuming you mean towing like you got a flat or something.

I would them what type of car it is and then make sure to have the lift up for them and block it so the front end doesn't scrap. They should secure it with tie downs over the wheels so it won't impact the car at all. I would then make sure they know how to put it in park and all of that. If the car is not running and can't be driving up on the lift then make sure the tow hook is out and they know how to tow it up (and get it in neutral). If it's not running and stuck in park then you'll have to get a truck that has those little dolly things that go under near the wheels. Other than that make sure they have insurance. Do a walk around before and after and take your own pictures.

Then be prepared for all sorts of passer-bys to gloat that the exotic has to be towed....

 

Make friends with an owner of a flat bed.

 

Not only that, the type of tow truck would be the least of your concerns.

 

Remember this is a Ferrari, There is a good chance your out and it wont start

 

My dealer would send a towing service they worked with and had confidence in. One thing they would bring is 4 wheel dollies to put under the tires and slide the car around without turning the wheels. It also lifted the car up probably 4-5 inches which prevented any scraping of the front or rear defusers.
