Hello all, new to the community, recently purchased a 2001 360 Spider, and after a drive, the ASR message illuminated as well as the ABS light. Any ideas or suggestions prior to taking it to my independent mechanic.

    Thanks
    Joseph

The first step is to pull codes if you don't have a good diagnostic tool buy this cheap one below and keep it with the car

First step would be pulling codes. Hopefully it's just a sensor, although in some cases low voltage or a bad battery can cause that.

Worse case scenario is a bad abs unit. If the motor is bad, swapping in a different one isn't hard, but they can be tricky to source. I believe I still have one posted in the classifieds. I still have a whole abs unit I've been meaning to post as well. The trouble is Ferrari stopped selling the abs units new and they never sold the pump motors individually.

Either way, scanning the codes and getting a proper diagnosis is the first step.

I will go with one of the four ABS sensors is bad. If your Speedo is still working, then the left rear sensor is still good. That leaves the other three.

They are not hard to do but the sensor and the wheel bearing is one unit so it is ... expensive. Welcome to Ferrari ownership.
