USA federal law is 8 years for all electric and hybrid drivetrains. Apparently Ferrari gets an exemption because of the low volume. Ferrari provides 7 years per their warranty book.

    296. Better sound, faster, more nimble, puts power down better, better steering. Modern interior. More warranty and free service is a bonus. Just better.

Looks subjective. I prefer the 296 and find the F8 too busy/ fussy. Regardless- I still like the F8- especially in black which tones it down.

Here is an interesting plot of the listing price of all the cars that have been listed for sale in the last 3 months. Looks the the 296s are not doing well vs the F8s. That mirrors what the general feeling is here. I'm surprised at the difference between the F8s and the 488s though.

This chart also shows that F8 prices are holding up really well with most listing for above MSRP. The 296s are averaging -10.9% depreciation and thats just on the listed price. I suspect buyers are getting much higher discounts off the asking than on the other models.

One gets more car with the 296 - one may still prefer the F8, but logically the F8 should be priced lower. However, these are not utility cars, so the market is immune to logic.

F8 is more classic Ferrari look and better proportions to my eye but it’s like a Charlie Chaplin movie-SILENT. The 296 sounds better, performs better and it’s depreciation makes it a better buy on the secondary market

296 is far superior to the F8 in every metric. If you like the looks of the F8 more, and that's your most important metric, then go for it. Personal preference FTW.

Funny, I think the 296 is more classic in the gentle curves that hark back to a period over 50 years ago.

IMO- The F8 is more a modern combination of the 458/ 488/ and Pista. And it’s a somewhat busy/ fussy combination. Not bad- as those prior cars are quite good.

And looks are subjective- so get what makes your heart race. Just make sure you drive a 296 hard before you make your decision

The 458 is fast enough for the roads too. It’s the go cart feeling and sound that’s absent from the F8. The 296’s power is also more usable than the F8’s- which is ground breaking for a road car. Regardless, the F8 is a great car. The 296 is just another world of performance and fun.

Pista is the one to buy for looks, I think. But the 296 Speciale, in pics at least, to me looks spectacular, and maybe will match the Pista.

Comparing the regular production cars, I think the 296 has some amazing angles. The rear 3/4 is one of the best designs in the last 20 years. The front can be a little bland from certain angles but sometimes I look at the car parked and it just works so well. The rear of the 296 is better looking than the F8 by miles. Front end, F8 wins. Side profile is a toss up.

But dynamically, the 296 just crushes the F8. I was close to pulling the trigger on a great spec’d F8 a few years ago and the test drive was one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had in a Ferrari. The sound is so bad.
