    Yeah you can get it out without dash removal. I did it in November in my car. There are four clips that you need to pop loose. I bought a plastic tool at autozone and did it with that. You need to be careful not to mar the leather. I did the bottom ones first because my dash had a little bit more give on those. Google pictures of the replacement hvac panel part number to find where on the back they are

    Rubbing alcohol and then Krylon Matte Clear has served me well on all the pieces I have done so far.
