This website gives a pretty good break down of the models: https://www.diagobd2.de/service/autel-ap200ap200hap200m-comparison-reviews.html Image Unavailable, Please Login Ray
So with the AP200 do you have to purchase a $21.99 module for each individual Ferrari model? So if you wanna scan a Ferrari 360 you have to purchase that and if a 458 Italia shows up you have to purchase that also? Or does the $21.99 cover all Ferrari models? Then if you need Land Rover, that's $21.99 and it covers every Land Rover ever made? Ray
The link I give you is the old version which has full read only support of one brand include for life That is why I always say get the white and gray one If you choose Ferrari you will be set 59 dollars for full Ferrari access for life
Image Unavailable, Please Login So it's $21.99 per model correct? For example, if you own several Ferraris (e.g. 360, 458 and say 812 SF), then you'd have to purchase 3 models, but once you do, the unit will work for all 3 for life? Ferrari 360 - $21.99 Ferrari 458 - $21.99 Ferrari 812 - $21.99 But once you do that, then your unit will always be ready to scan any of those 3 just with the touch of a button? Does it show you where all your purchased modules reside in the software? I wanna load this into my iPad mini (the one I'm currently using the A30M for). Ray
As a software developer myself, I have to say that this device really seems all over the map (based on reading 1-star reviews) and attempting to interact with the websites and product information is also a bit disconcerting. It strikes me as having been developed by a poorly administered company / team of coders that are compartmentalized or something. With that said - based on everything I've read on FerrariChat from flash and also in searching and talking to people - it does seem to be the model that offers the most support when it comes to Ferrari. Without getting my hands on it and trying it out, it's hard to know how well it would take to switching between Ferrari models however. Ray
Ray When you buy the old unit I sent a link to you will get one brand and updates for life I have one of these and have recommended about 50 of them so far (a guess..but lots) for people I have helped with 360 430 599 etc ...it is the best deal for for Ferrari I have seen for read only It has the read capabilities of the same models that cost $4,000 or more specifically for Ferrari I was a software developer as well by the way I have done all the work and all the research for you already No more analysis paralysis lol Seriously..call me if you have any further questions Just buy it ..in Amazon you can always return it Dominick
I just watched the video associated with the link you provided previously; the video in the product description also mentions that the $21.99 purchase is for "vehicle make" - so I think the write up at Amazon is just misleading. Ray
If you want to buy additional brands the you pay a small fee every year or two ..I just tell people to buy one tool for each brand in house ..once and done ..especially if you are a long term keeper of your cars
That seems like the smart approach. I think this would address most of the complaints I read on Amazon also. Ray
Ray Your "software" take is spot on btw but not because of the developers per se but because each brand has their own proprietary software which the Autel is trying to mimic so if you buy a BMW brand it might have the inpa/ista program if you buy a vag brand it might have ODIs
It's amazing modern cars still manage to get all the modules to communicate as well as they do. My daily driver is OBD1 And soon it will be running a Link ECU hopefully. Ray
@flash32 Dominick, just to confirm, this only always you to read CS TCU data but NOT actually set PIS, ClutchConfig and execute self-learn right? Or am I totally mistaken?
Correct it is a mostly a read only device ..but it can read any 360 TCU not just CS Ray is doing a deeper dive into the tool he discovered (another post) to see if it does special functions, activation etc on the 360...he will do screen shots and we can see what it can do The tool he found (xtool a30m) is based on an Autel so hopefully carries some.ofnthe Evo ultra scan tool ..which can do what you mention If that doesn't pan out ..based on your question (CS TCU) ..the thinkdiag2 works and does what you need on CS
After a bunch of reading and research I've found that the early 360 might need an ECU reflash / update from Ferrari. Is there anyone that can do this or is that a Ferrari dealer only thing that I have to go and fight them on so they can do it for me?
Ray You are correct For some reason I thought we were talking about the TCU and that's why I said reach out to Eric
