If you plan on driving the car often to events and club drives, get the Lusso. If your intentions are to show it more and drive it on occasion, go with the Boano. Both are stunning examples of V12 Ferrari's.

i would pick the Lusso.. the car is just beautiful!
for me the perfect color combo for lusso is dark blue with dark red interiors..

compared to the Boano, the Lusso is just has much more appeal..more curves.. a more elegante version of the 250SWB.. IMO that is...

To my eye Lusso looks like a car that was designed around the rear window. The nose looked nice until they decided to add driving lights (fog lights? whatever!). With the added lights there is just too much stuff on it! Best wishes, Kare

I would still like a two-tone Boano; however, the 250GTO and the 250GTL were produced during the same time period (1962-64) and the GTL is really the luxury version of the GTO. They have similar chassis, with the leaf+coil springs and the Watts linkage.

But John you own a Lusso and have said you prefer driving the PF Coup you also own. Why is that, perhaps that could shed some light on this quandry. Yale

I've had both the Lusso and PF coupe. The latter felt heavier, slower and less agile.

I would take the Lusso. A better driver and one of the most beautiful cars ever.

The appeal of a vintage sportscar probably has little to do with performance or comfort. I don't really know what generates that appeal. You look at a car and the juices get all stirred up right away and another car, equally as impressive, does nothing for you.

Take the 400SA, to me she is like Momma Cass in a tutu. The PF coupe is Grace Kelly in a Channel.

Sorry but a 400SA Aerodynamica coupe will smoke your PF coupe in every way, straight line performance, cornering, braking, ride quality. We work on one with 400+ horsepower that can burn the rear tires like a '60s slingshot dragster, I'd like to see a PF coupe do that.

I also think that the 400SA is one of the most beautiful Ferrari's made.

I'd also take Mama Cass over Grace Kelly in this case. :)

Brian, is this 400SA the ex-Harrah car, or has another 400SA been "upgraded" in similar fashion?

Actually, the 427 Cobra will smoke Momma Cass and Grace Kelly together, but would you want to be with Rosanne Barr in leotards?

    John,

I'm looking forward to further desciptions of cars. I'm curious how you would describe the 330 2+2 series.

    Regards,

Well, Art, most of us car guys are not Chauvinistic, but we tend to refer to our cars as "she". So, there is a he for every she, and one guy's she may not appeal to another guy. It's as simple as that. That's why I think the 400SA is overweight and unappealing, but Brian Brown thinks it's beautiful. Value, performance and comfort have nothing to do with it.

But, how can you fault the 330? It's a diamond in the rough.

I think the Boano doesn't look very well on pictures. In reality the 3D shape is much better. The Lusso looks much "newer" to me. I like the older 50's style

Many thanks for the congrats, still recovering from the purchase price haha. It is 543 GT, matching engine. Totally black with red interior, non original color - but I like it.

Thinking though , now that it is a non original color anyway, to make the roof argento. Somehow I like the two tones
